The owners and their staff were incredibly warm and friendly (but also very professional) and also very helpful to us, without being intrusive. The hotel has the warmth and cosiness of a b&b, but the facilities of a good standard hotel. The food was also to a very high standard - good choices at breakfast, freshly cooked, and an evening menu that was excellent. As has already been said by some other reviewers, you are treated like a mixture between an old friend and royalty. The location is.
所有评语 » I have stayed in many B&B / Hotels over the years and this one is a real find! The staff are a real team and are so kind and helpful - looking for ways to ensure that your needs are met. The food was excellent (both breakfasts and dinners); the lounge and bar area very comfortable; and the room very clean and comfortable (but note this isn't a town-hotel where every room is the same - furniture and facilities have to be squeezed into odd places). Overall a perfect place to base a few days w. The Owners and staff made us and our small dog feel very welcome and looked after us very well during our stay, always checking if we needed anything. The room was very comfortable. The Hotel is located in a lovely area with great places to walk close by, the owners were more than happy to drive my Husband to a drop off point for one of the longer walks, which was great. We would like to thank Julie and Graham for making our stay at Windy Harbour Hotel very enjoyable and relaxing. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome even though we only stayed a short time. Although there was a function on whilst we were staying, they ensured that it didn't interrupt our stay at all. Nothing was too much trouble - there was a slight mix up with our room booking, however we were called straight away and offered an alternative at no extra cost. The hotel itself is charming, with lovely rooms and great views. We would gladly stay there again!. We were visiting family in the area and chose Windy Harbour as it is close to Glossop. We also brought our two dogs with us and we were all made very welcome by Lee. The lunch and breakfast we had were excellent, nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Our room was clean and warm, the bed very comfortable. The log burner downstairs made everything very cosy in the evening. Excellent value for money, we would definitely recommend to friends. First rate. Clean, warm, good sitting space as well as a perfectly adequate sized bedroom. Very well appointed. We were there for a wedding and took over the entire hotel. Graham, Lee and the rest of the staff were wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating to all requests. The weather was rather too cold, but that was not the fault of the hotel, and at least we didn't get snowed in like the previous Saturday's wedding party. Nothing. Wifi wandered in and out, staff said this had been a problem in recent times. Room slightly small but made up for in comfort. Nothing worth mentioning. No harbour visible!!!. The room was a bit on the small side though it did contain the essentials. Wi-Fi connectivity was not available in room 7, towards the rear of the hotel but accessibility was available from the lobby area. Nothing. nothing. Bedroom too small and mirror too low for shaving, but it was the only one left at time of booking. The behaviour and intolerance of drivers on the B6105 - not your fault. Checkout at 10am (although having heard about their booking schedule, I can understand why). The rooms are a little cramped but it is a small country hotel; for a short stay no problem. If you depend on the internet for work, suggest you have a backup plan. I use my phone's one so all was well. They hold functions and when I was there the music went on till midnight and kept me awake. Room was a bit small. Nothing we can think of. Room was a bit cramped, but as we only stayed one night it didn't matter. En-suite was also small, having to go round the door to get into it. Nothing. Not much choise of dishes for evening meal.
