Enormous, characterful room with massive furniture and huge bathroom with corner jacuzzi. Really something special at the price ! The hotel itself is like something out of a Conan Doyle story - ornate Victoriana and more or less tasteful chintz; a little overpowering at first sight but certainly impressive. Capable and friendly staff coupled with an excellent and varied breakfast. Recommended !.
所有评语 » We stayed in the Kings room which was a new wing finished in Oct 08. The room was very well appointed and catered for all our needs, eg air con, large comfortable bed, plasma screen and very quiet at night. Also a beautiful ensuite. Excellent buffet breakfast and the staff were very efficient and helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.The atmosphere of the hotel and staff were friendly which made our stay very relaxing. We had a meal in The Bacchus Restaurant which was superb and reasonably priced. Overall the service was excellent and we would certainly consider staying at The Kings in the future. The rooms were extremely clean, comfortable and grander than we expected. Our party was of 6, we had 3 rooms. We were celebrating two birthdays. We were all delighted with rooms, restaurant bar and lounge. The decor was lovely.Just opened, room was sparkling new, comfortable; Excellent buffet breakfast including Full English; Secure parking; Just a short walk from city centre; Easy to find, it's facing the railway station. during my stay at the kings my wife and i walked around the city of chester which was very pleasant we also dined in city as the visit was to celerbrate my wifes 40th birthday. The room was very good; elegant but contemporary decor, very comfortable bed and furnishings, nice lighting. The hotel was beautiful and the room was magical. We were really impressed with everything. Just about everything. this part of the hotel is brand new! it was superb and we will go back again. would recommend to all, the brand new restaurant was great with plentiful breakfast. my partner couldnt believe how much i eat !!!!!!!!!!!!!. A little bit of luxury was lovely and it was a very pleasent atmoshere and would certainly visit again. Fantastic new hotel attached to the old grand hotel, everything was brand new and staff friendly!. The decore of the rooms and hotel were beautiful and well laid out. We had a brilliant time and enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very nice room. The service was good too. Immecable room, obviously very new. With the exeception of one receptionist - could not fault it.The rooms were really nice. Really well decorated. The new and old facilities were lovely, the location is good, the food in the Bacchus restaurant was of a good standard. Room was great up to date, very nice bathroom and very spacious. Even had an ipod player! and free wirreless!. the contemporary style of the room was very much to our liking.was very clean with good facilities. Staff were very good. The room. excelent location easy to find staff were very helpful It was nice and quiet. the lounge was spacious and warm. Parking was convenient. The hotel was an amazing place and breakfast was delicious. The location of the hotel was ideal for accessing the whole of chester. Really enjoyed the luxurious modern but authentic style of the hotel. Really plesant decor with a historic twist. The rooms. We stayed in the new section of the hotel, the 'Kings' suites. The site suggests this was opening in Summer 2008, however, building work is still ongoing. Whilst this did not cause problems, the overall look externally and some internal finishes were lacking. Room finishes were to a high standard and the bar areas within the Kings Suite were very modern and friendly with excellent service.Lovley room,"princess and the pea" bed, room to sit and relax, good veiw of station facade. The hotel was not as central as the booking suggested, the room was v small yet supposed to be an executive double - hotel was dark, and we had miles to walk to the room. Restaurant and it'sstaff. The breakfast room and the quaility of the breakfast as their was plenty to chose from.Shower door did not reach the floor so bathroom floor got very wet. minor problem for one nights stay but would have been annoying on a longer stay. Check in was laboured as there were a lot of guests arriving at the same time but the staff coped well. The number of parties being held in the hotel meant that it was pretty full and extremely noisy in the main lounges area, though it didn't affect the bedroom. The shower was too hot for my liking, I prefer to have a cold shower and the one in our room just wouldn't allow the water to go anything below hot. Reception staff at the Queen hotel initially were not accomodating us in the Kings. It was only after persisting about our booking arrangements that they found us a room in the Kings section.The were only 2 little blots on the experience. The service at breakfast was bad. We were sat down aand asked if we wanted tea/coffee, we ordered a pot of english tea and a green tea. We had to ask for it 4 times, so did a few other guests and we had to ask for toast 3 times. I had eaten 2 full breakfasts from the self service by the time the tea and toast turned up. My wife was not impressed. Car park charges, but were reasonable enough.could have done with a mini bar in the room,even if just for glass of bottled water. Room was not available on arrival. Had to wait until 2.00. Hotel corridors were cold.The room service breakfast was not value for money, gien that £10.00 tray charge was added for 2 people. Noting really; I would have liked to have stayed i the older part of the hotel.Well, we had a member of staff come into our room using their key card without knocking also when we were checking out i was asked to pay £114 even though i had paid the bill in full in cash on arrival, only 1 night was logged. After a little investigation the situation was sorted out but no apology offered, i found this quite embarrassing and was very frustrated by the lack of customer service. Quite noisy and was woken up by a disturbance in the corridor during the middle of the night. Was given the wrong car parking code and had to come back into the hotel. The cost of parking at £7 and the shower as although it looked like an impressive power shower it did not meet expectations. The hotel is classed as 4 star, however, the service and food in the restaurant were not, in our opinion, of this standard. The main course meat selection was requested medium and arrived well-done! Dress code seemed to be very casual.Just a little disappointed that our room was not ready when we arrived. uncomfortable bed. the rooms were very small for price paid and also the room was very uncomfortable as the heating had a problem and was stuck on. We could not stay in our room for too long as it was too hot, we asked to move rooms but was told this was the problem in all rooms!. The room was small and quite cramped.The first nite we were put into a different room in the Queen part and this room was not clean I did complain but nothing was done and it when down hill from their no tv remote , we were told that the room was quite and we had noise through out the nite, the bathroom was so cramped you had to ease yourself round the sink to sit on the loo, we ordered a paper for the morning and that was missed.
