The room was very clean, and the bed linens immaculate. The bathroom was also the cleanest we found. We loved staying at the Mariners. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere, staff at breakfast were exceptionally nice. I took 2 small dogs which were very welcome.the friendly atmosphere and evening entertainment great. room was warm, welcoming and clean, and the tea making is a good idea. Very friendly and helpful staff. Mariner's provided a good mix of traditional pub atmosphere and good live music at the weekend. i liked the mariners very much especially as they allowed us to bring our 2 dogs with us. Friendly people and the breakfast was lovely. The central location was ideal. Very accomodating staff, room was very clean and a problem with the bathroom was sorted very quickly. I will certainly be visiting again.very friendly and helpful staff,exellent breakfast,would stay at the mariner again. If you don't mind late night music though it is great and all entertainment was finished by 1am when we stayed which was a Saturday night. very minor and not really the hotels fault - the weather was very poor over night and the windows were very noisy as they rattled. It was a bit dated could do with a revamp and on looking around it seemed a bit over priced compared with some. location except parking is a major problem,beds a bit creaky and shower needs upgrading (I am 6ft and it was a tight squeeze)door lock faulty. the bed was not comfortable. no parking. The bed was quite uncomfortable and the staff that we came accross during check in and breakfast, although attentive, did not seem very interested. Also, being just above the bar meant that we could hear the bass of the music which was quite irritating when we were trying to sleep!. Basic room facilitlies I.e no bath and only a small shower cubicle. Room was very small. Room needed updating and carpets needed cleaned. Parking was difficult.Surprised at no room attended to from one day to the next. Shower didn't work, noise from the pub till 2am - comes right through into the room, poor reception on the TV - picture and sound abysmal - limited channels, no close parking, bed uncomfortable. noisy during evening. No curtain in bathroom, very small shower, no shampoo or shower gel. Inadequate registration facilities in the bar.Breakfast on the Sunday morning was not going to be served until 9am which was too late for us. Room was extremely small. No parking available. First priority was to take my money..Very dark and gloomy impression.Tatty carpet in bedroom.Very noisy room- traffic and music below and woken up at 2.30 am by someone throwing coins at the window !. Very loud music. Rooms were in need of refurbishment as the furniture is old fashioned and carpets needed replacing. Generally the hotel is tired and overpriced. The hotel was very noisy - loud music playing from the bar area until 12.30am, we could not sleep. The hotel was situated on a busy main road with no double glazing or any comfort, no privacy unless the curtains were closed completely.the room was to warm the bathroom was terrible.
