The family-run Derby Hotel is situated in the heart of Barrow-in-Furness, less than half a mile from the Rail Station. It features a large bar area with a good selection of drinks and a large flat-screen TV, as well as offering free Wi-Fi. The Derby’s guest bedrooms are decorated using neutral colours and wooden furnishibngs. They are all equipped with an en suite bathroom and feature a Freeview TV with a built in DVD player and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel is located less than a 10-minute walk from Portland Walk Shopping Centre and the popular Diamond Chinese Restaurant is next to the hotel. The picturesque Fell Foot Park, in the Lake District, is less than 20 miles from the hotel.

- It was very clean and practical - The staff were friendly and flexible - Internet connection was very fast (unlike the expensive hotels in Barrow). Ease of access to the Lakes. Easy access to stores and restaurants. Friendly staff. Nice large room with decent shower. friendly staff and location. good practical clean rooms. We would and are going to stay here again.soon.
所有评语 » Despite being above a bar with live music, it was surprisingly quiet. Cleanliness and friendliness, plenty tea coffee etc in room. It is basic accommodation, but the room is en-suite and the beds comfortable and there is a TV in the room For the solo traveller wanting somewhere cheap and basic it is a good choice. Bars and town centre are close by. It is a central location if you want the nightlife. The lady who ran the hotel was very accomodating. I would book the hotel again when business takes me to Barrow in Furness. The room itself was good and I was happy with it. Tea making facilities appreciated and well as TV with subtitles and text. The room was spacious and comfortable. Cheap, no extra's, simple, clean and tidy. Budget, no frills accommodation. clean room,. Nothing. - No option for breakfast: had to go to another hotel to have breakfast. Climbing 38 steps to the room in the hotel! Seagulls that never slept!!!. Freezing cold. no heating on the coldest day ever. that said i think they had problems with the mains so hardly their fault. No obvious way to check in easily. 38 steps to our landing / no lift Not suitable for anyone that is not realy fit. Can be a bit noisy due to its location. The fact that the heating was of during the night and the quilt was too small for the bed. After booking and finding out there was no breakfasts at the hotel. When the pub side of the business was closed, there seemed to be no-one about in case of any unexpected need. At night it was quite silent and I did not see a phone to use if required. I felt uneasy about this. There was lots of noise from outside, seagulls squawking until midnight, revellers from the pub across the road, church bells ringing at 11 pm then early morning traffic, rubbish collectors, road sweepers never ending noise and to add to that we found ourselves sitting outside at 5 am because the fire alarms were going off. DOn't call it a hotel unless you have the Hotel facilities such as breakfast. No eating, drinking, reception facilities. You ring a mobile number scribbled on the door for access. Elderly couple were left to operate TV with no controls - very poor and in a desolate spot!. no food available. noise from music in the bar till 11pm. standards of cleanliness in general areas. Hot tap almost disconnected from the sink. Hand towel rail not fixed to the wall. To register we had to make mobile phone calls to gain access to the premises and for any other kind of aid. Being admitted to the premises by a young woman wearing pyjamas and dressing gown at 4 pm inthe afternoon.
