Location is excellent next to the Menai Straits. Ask for a room overlooking the pier. My annex room in the roof (24) overlooking the pier was quiet and the bed was fine but would have been a bit small for a couple. Breakfast was excellent and efficiently served. My second visit after some years and I would return. Beautiful view of the sea from our suite and the restaurant. The staff were welcoming and very helpful. Close to amazing sites and scenery in Northern Wales. Lovely tea rooms in quaint little villages in the area. Site seeing in the area is excellent - lots of things to do for families and friends.
所有评语 » Great position beside the Menai Strait. We had a fantastic view out over the lovely pier from our bedroom. Very friendly and helpful breakfast waitress (Trish) - good breakfast too! Although it is in need of an update, it had everything you would expect from a small hotel. The room was spacious, a little tired maybe, but everything you needed was there. Large shower, clean and warm - what more does anyone want? Breakfast was great, maybe a little more interaction from the waitress might have been nice?? Very good value for money. Rooms have been refurbished since I was last there and are comfortable with good bathrooms. Staff are excellent, good welcome on reception and good in the restaurant too. This was excellent value for a comfortable stay and good pub type food. The hotel in general was welcoming, the position of the hotel was great with good views over the coast. The breakfast was very nice. The room was large, airy and comfortable. We didn't eat at the hotel on the evening so cannot comment here. The welcome was genuine, the staff were really obliging and informative, the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and inexpensive and we loved the views from dining room and bedroom. The bedroom decor was dated but it was all clean. The view across the Menai Straits was beautiful and looked like interesting areas nearby.Our grand daughter was with us and she liked the place. Comfortable but an old building. Staff were obliging and made a lovely hot chocolate. The atmosphere was pleasing and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Centrally located to the city centre. The Hotel is situated in a scenic part of Bangor, adjacent to the pier. Breakfast was hearty and tasty. Loved the people, the meals, the value for money and the location. Plus every evening when my little baby and I came home our bed would be made and fresh cups for the tea were there. And we really really felt like home. The staff were very understanding when I explained I couldn't get there before 11pm (check-in deadline) Someone met when I arrived and gave me my key. Very friendly Very comfortable, very quiet, excellent food. Comfortable and clean with friendly helpful staff. Would certainly stay again and recommend to friends. The situation is idyllic with proximity to the Pier and also local pubs and restaurants. The staff at the hotel were very friendly. In fact everyone we met in Bangor was friendly. However, the rooms were not as I expected (see other comments). Usual things - I've stayed here a few times before. Great setting and unsurpassable views - at least from my room! Price Breakfast Included Comfy Beds Beautiful View. The location of the hotel The rooms and the food. Hotel is a bit tired and threadbare in places but is quite OK in terms of cleanliness. No elevator or means to get to our room except by taking stairs to the building and stairs to the suite. That said, the friendly staff member was pleased to carry my bag for me to the suite. This was a very minor issue. Dated (1980s?) decor & carpets throughout. Peculiar smell in our room (18). May have been a cleaning product, but it was particularly strong - had to have a window wide open for a while whenever we returned to our room. Nothing!. Nothing, I will definitely stay here again when in the area. The car parking was difficult with only a small number of places at the hotel. Other parking was available in the area but this made access to the hotel a walk up hill which is difficult with your baggage. My daughter's sofa bed was uncomfortable unlike the main bed, so she did not sleep well. The lounge/bar area needed freshening up. The breakfast/dining room was pretty hot on a sunny morning due to the roof material. Blinds might help. It was up steps from the parking area. There was a funny noise you were aware of at night. To do with? Suction in toilet system as a very rocky area. Just that they had lots of stairs and I had a buggie! But all the staff helped me with it!. Quite far away from centre but I knew that when I booked. Stairs, but you can cope with that. From the booking confirmation we received, my brother & I were expecting 2 rooms with double beds (in fact I'm sure that was what I requested). However we were given rooms with twin beds. nothing about the hotel, but I'm not sure about Questions 5 and 6 below about Bangor itself - don't like the idea of a city being "packaged" like this. There was nothing to dislike. There were a few cracks in the ceiling and around the windows and the bathroom is very small. Public areas somewhat dated. Breakfast was adequate, server a tad surly. The 50+ steps to the sky oops i mean house. Service at the restaurant for dinner was poor and the parking was always a problem. Some areas of hotel look dated. Some of the rooms a touch small - perhaps square meterage of rooms could be displayed during booking process in line with other hotel booking policies. With 20 rooms and 11 parking spaces I have been concerned that I may not be able to park by the hotel. really liked everything but maybe boost the wifi so it can be accessed easily in public areas and rooms. I stayed in the separate house to my sister who was in the main hotel building. The booking for the two rooms was made at the same time, so this was rather disappointing. Breakfast finished at 9.30 am Sat & Sun, perhaps it should be 10am like other hotels. Although we were down before 9.30 (9.26) we were made to feel unwelcome. Leaving. Breakfast can be improved, it was a bit too greasy and not so fresh and light!. Very steep stairs up to hotel and up to room. No problem for me but I would not have been able to get my grandmother up them. Was very warm with the heating on full blast but no problem once I turned radiator off in my room and opened the window. Glass being put into recycling bin constantly during the evening. Toilets were a bit loud (motorised). Weather (but that cant be helped) Limited Parking - however parking available over the road. Nothing. Wifi didn't work in the room. Parking a bit limited but other spaces available. We had a family room for myself and 2 just aduld children, my son had the very old uncomfortable sofa bed, this definatly has seen better days and needs replacing. being woken at crack of sparrows by glass recycling lorry. Nothing.
