This bar, restaurant and hotel is converted from an old dairy and is located just outside the centre of Ashington. Food is served all day and there is free parking.
The Black Diamond is within easy reach of Newcastle city centre, the coast and Northumberland. All rooms have an en suite bathroom, a TV, ironing facilities and tea and coffee making facilities.

Highly recomended. I will be staying again. Friendly staff and an excellent room rate in comparrison of other hotels which inflated their prices due to the Great North run. Very down to earth but helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was clean, comfortable and provided all the essentials. At this price, one doesn't expect five-star, or even three star, luxury, but the overall quality exceeded run of the mill pub accommodation. Friendly attitude of the staff. comfortable room. Friendly staff. it was less than a mile of where i needed to be the following day!. The staff and food are good. Initial concerns about cleanliness and amount of bed linen were addressed and remedied immediately we mentioned them. Poor time observance, breakfast became somewhat rushed as the kitchen did not open early enough or on time.the room was not very clean, the shower was unclean, tiles falling off the walls, the door wouldnt close, black mildew around the edges, the room was cold, a small very loud heater was supplied!. Advertised as having wy-fy, this was not working on arrival tilldeparture. This has since been removed from the web site. Also the roomgiven to us was of no comparison to the room shown on the web picture.It was window-less except for a skylight 15ft up in the ceiling, and theroom was small and cramped. The only picture we could see on the website was a two windowed double room. This has sinc. everything, rooms were cold, one bed no quilt had to make do with a dirty blanket, no clean towels, one room was not cleaned , booked one double one single, after waiting twenty mins, for them to find us a double room, we gave up and took the twin.
