The hosts Sue and Ray were very friendly, casual and flexible. When I needed to get up earlier than their hours for breakfast they still made me breakfast, and it was very delicious. I stayed in one of their single occupancy rooms with a comfy bed, sharing the large bathroom (which was no problem at all) and was a great bargain. The place is conveniently close to public transportation and stores. The hosts are also knowledgeable about the area. A great place!.
所有评语 » I liked everything about my stay. The facilities were excellent and I will definetely be returning to ambleside and, 3 cambridge villas is top of my bed and breakfast list. Also due to the bus stops being directly behind the b and b, you dont have to worry about driving. You can virtually jump on the bus and travel anywhere in the lake district. Sue and Ray the hosts were very friendly and kind. They helped us with everything we needed. The place is very clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good and the location is perfect. Many good restaurants around the place. The room was very warm and welcoming. Exactly what we wanted. The staff were so very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were clean and had everything that you would expect, the beds were comfortable, the TV a good size for the room. The breakfasts were very good. We will definitely be returning, it very good value for money. Spotlessly clean room, friendly welcome and lovely breakfast. Had single room with shared bathroom and this was amazing value for money. Location right in middle of town round the corner from main bus stop but on a quiet road. Will definitely stay here again. The staff were truly wonderful and were happy to go the extra mile. Really helpful with advice on the area and even let us use their maps. Not to mention making me the perfect breakfast sandwich. Great place! Felt like staying with old friends. This B&B is in an excellent location for both accessing some superb walking and climbing and then for finding some lovely resturants and bars at the end of a long day. The couple who run Cambridge Villas are extremely helpful and friendly. Room was warm and bed very comfortable. The bedding was crisp and fresh. Really liked the location which was closed to bars, shops and restaurants. Owners were helpful with printing off a map so we could enjoy a walk on the fells. We only stayed for one night which was very comfortable. The room was warm and clean with tea making facilities and the shower room complete with toiletries, hand soap and cream. The breakfast was lovely as was the hospitality :). My description in words would be immaculate comfortable rooms, breakfast very well presented and served hot, proprietors have a genuine practical knowledge of and empathy with the surrounding fells. Ideal location. My father and I stayed for 2 nights at Cambridge Villas. Staff are very welcoming, friendly and chatty. Breakfasts are really good and the cleanliness of the place is very good. Will be staying again for sure. Very handily located right in the centre. Convenient for busses and lake. Excellent food and service. The location was excellent, right close to the centre of town, easy access to a variety of dining options. We were able to park in front of the guest house. We were really satisfied with our 2-night-stay. Ray helped us planning the schedule, Sue cleaned our room every morning. The breakfast was harvest for us. House holder is very friendly... The location of B&B is located in downtown, and it's just a walk distances to lake. The stay this time was wonderful. Excellent stay, good breakfast ,v. clean ,overnight parking outside after 6pm , 2 good restaurants on same street, would highly recommend this b&b. There was nothing I didn't really like but it would've been nice to have more film choices available in our room even if it were a pay-per-view service. I don't know if this is affordable for most B&B's though. The hair shampoo and conditioner could be better. Sink in the en-suite was a little high but otherwise clean etc. More information about breakfast choices would have been helpful. Car parking limited, so had to block other residents in. A small outdoor area to sit in and enjoy in the evening be good, for when we do have dry warm conditions! , But space is limited - so not really feasible. Could have stayed longer. Nothing. N/A. Room small; smallest shower we have seen, just serviceable, however. Ambleside is a kitchy tourist town, no fault of the 3 Cambridge Villas owners, of course. Try Grasmere or another nearby, quiet location--only a few miles. N/A. single room little bit smaller than I thought. Nothing. Nothing. The bed was very uncomfortable, so we didn't sleep well at all.
