  The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. It was good to be able to talk to fluent English speakers. The room was quiet and very clean. Being able to use the terrace and internet any time was much appreciated.

  The location of the hotel is superb, right between the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, yet in a quiet side road.   FS Bosphorus is in my top three hotel stays of all time. It is an incredible place to stay, with an extraordinarily good spa. The staff treated me like a VIP and were excellent.   Communications with site management throughout the booking process were crisp and complete and when we arrived in Istanbul, the management team text'ed after our landing asking if we needed anything and that they would expect us shortly, giving us their cell number in case we had any questions.   The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
