  As we stayed at Akin Suites for a week plus 2 more overnight stays during trips through Turkey, this became our special little home.   This was the best place I stayed out of 3 hotels in Istanbul! It was super budget friendly but also had really beautiful rooms, really clean and the staff were amazing! it has has a kitchenett so you can make your own meals and the rooms are really spacious. The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!
