  The resort is about 2 mins drive from the centre of lamai and the owners Dave and Paul happily drive all the guests to and from town. Nou and El are both superb and extremely helpful.   This place is awesome, we stayed at a number of resorts are Koh Samui (including The Library which is 5* design hotel) and the Beach Republic is definitely up there. Super quick check in, got upgraded to a suite which was really nice and spacious and then last night was upgraded again to a private pool villa, so much fun having your own pool. Other reviews have said the food is expensive, but when you see what you get - We were supposed to stay only for 2 nights, but ended up staying there for 6. The villa is amazing, the private pool, lounge area, kitchen it was all great. It really gives you the island feeling. The staff were exceptional alway ready to help. The beach club was great too, and the food at their restaurant was also very good.the house keeping even remember which of the bed you sleep on. I highly recommend this place. It added so much to our trip.

  The location of Lamai Inn is excellent, right next to the beach and close to shops and bars. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Although the beach was clean and very beautiful we spent a lot of our time in the pool which was well maintained. We went at the beginning of the rainy season so had a few storms. Location is great, 1 minute's walk to the beach, and 5-10 minutes walk to the town center (shopping/food/drink area); They have own power supply so we had electricity supply in our rooms even the whole southern Thailand had a big blackout on one night during our stay.
