The views out of our window were great.
The simplicity of the room were fantastic.
The breakfast was perfect.
The dinner is an excellent value for the area. If you don't get the dinner you will likely pay well over 100 francs for a family of four!
The mountains are a wonderful place to hike. The trails are clearly marked with distances.

The hostel is a bit out of the center of Zermatt, although this isn't a huge problem since the town is pretty small. Only four beds in the room I was staying in, which was nice, and lockers for backpacks that operate with a 2CHF deposit. Beds were reasonably comfortable and each has its own reading light.
