Charming, wonderful, welcoming staff, beautiful views into the village or out onto the tremendously picturesque mountainsides and valleys surrounding Gruyères--itself perched on a low flat mountain. Wonderful food and service, charming dining opportunities inside and out. In the center of the village: charming shops, wonderful cheese and gourmet restaurants offering local specialties; a fascinating castle with elements from the Middle Ages throught the Renaissance to the Belle Époque. The hotel was very comfortable and quiet with wonderful views. It was so conveniently located, the food was great and the host and hostess had a great sense of humor, too. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone else. We enjoyed the restaurant as well, and could see no reason to eat anywhere else.
Fabulous place to stay! The room was very clean and a good size. We had the room from the street side and we could see the entire medieval town from our window. The restaurant and the patio were on the first floor and the food was good. The staff was very friendly.
Quaint little hotel in the center of Gruyere. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant was very good including breakfast and dinner. We had a comfortable room with a nice country look and a beautiful view of the garden in the back.

every thing was great, nice 350 year old renovated hotel in a cozy Swiss style with a lot of woods , very clean, great food and in a beautiful setting in the old town.

No traffic in the town meant a struggle to find parking and a short bag-drag with the luggage--but we were fortunate and were able to park at the height of a huge influx of tourists right at the edge of the pedestrian zone. WiFi was non-functional in the room, but fine in the front of the hotel.
I cannot think of anything about our stay that we did not like.

There was nothing that we did not like - it was a lovely place for an overnight stay. I suppose it was rather on the pricey side but no more so than the surrounding hotels...it is switzerland after all!.
