  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city.   We were really really lucky. We were given a room on the last floor (8th) which has a private balcony overlooking Barcelona and the Gothic quarter. The room was very fresh and clean and it was very nicely decorated. Mind you I am not very fond of modern design -- I typically like places from the beginning of the 20th centuary.   We loved our room, which was modern, spacious & stylishly appointed. Everything that we could want was there. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We ate in the Tapas bar on one night of our stay & had a very good meal. We did not think it was overpriced. Concierge staff were particularly good and helpful and booked a few outings for us. The hotel however could have a stand to show what they offer in this respect to make more profit.

The delay did give us a chance to - The staff are top-notch. Very few luxury hotels are able to balance friendliness with efficiency like Hotel Bagues. It's a rare gift to offer the experience they do for guests. The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic, too, and despite being on the La Rambla - with a room overlooking it - at night we could only hear the faintest of sounds. Luxuriously decorated, but cosy, the entire hotel is a really lovely experience.
