  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants. The rooms were very modern and well fitted out having plenty of space and the bathrooms were great. Staff were very polite and helpful.   The apartment is located in the centre of Barcelona (close to the cathedral). It's a proper apartment for two people or maybe three if you don't have any problems sleeping on a couch. The interior is okay for you won't stay too long insinde the apartment. There is a TV (we didn't used it and a good music station for iphone ....).

  We were really really lucky. We were given a room on the last floor (8th) which has a private balcony overlooking Barcelona and the Gothic quarter. The room was very fresh and clean and it was very nicely decorated. Mind you I am not very fond of modern design -- I typically like places from the beginning of the 20th centuary.
