Spacious comfortable luxury room. Half portions of lunch ordered and was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. Loved the modern bathroom with his and hers basins as well as the massive duo shower heads. Wow! Close many wine tasting farms. The breakfast was magnificent and the view from dining room breathtaking. Would highly recommend Rijks and cannot wait to go back again!. Magnificent vineyard setting with a backdrop of the surrounding mountains. Large, cool and comfortable rooms with spacious bathroom, separate toilet and a lovely patio shaded by vines overhead to relax & enjoy the view. Very friendly, accommodating staff and enjoyable meals. Many thanks to the gentleman that very kindly washed our well travelled car. Highly recommended!.
所有评语 » Everything! Your duty manager Freda is absolutely outstanding with her hospitality and professionalism (as are all the other staff!) Attention to detail in the rooms, bath salts, roses etc. Food outstanding and breakfast on the terrace, beautiful. And my car got washed - first time ever I've experienced this added service and I travel frequently. Spacious room, peaceful environment, helpful staff. There are only about a dozen rooms, and 3 self-catering cottages so its uncrowded, but just a couple of minutes' drive from Tulbagh. We spent just one night there which was a mistake - 2 nights or more would have been better to unwind properly. Very reasonably priced. The surroundings were picturesque and spectaclular - I loved the view from our room. Also the special touch of being met outside already to be welcomed was great. The staff's friendliness and a very delightful winetasting were some of the highlights. The food was well-prepared and the rooms were prestine and neat. The staff at Rijks take service very seriously. Louis and Trevor were always prepared to assist with any queries or issues in a positive manner. The breakfast served at Rijks was great (order the poached eggs, you won't be disappointed). Sit on the patio at sunset and the view will take your breath away. The hotel was a breathe of fresh air! Surrounded by magnificent scenery, the amenities are a pleasure an the staff are extremely friendly an helpful. The food was excellent as well. We could have stayed on for a lot longer. Tulbagh is a little gem of a town and highly recommended. Service was top-class. Awecome breakfast. Dinner was lovely, aprt from the mussels which was too oily and returned, it was replaced with tender calamari that was not charged for. Room was nice and spacious- bathroom is spectacular. Nice touch to wash your car before you deprt. Rooms are large, modern and comfortable with TV and fridge. Bathroom has 2 showers and 2 sinks, toilet is separated. Environment is very well maintained with a luxury outdoor pool and relax area. Managers are present and very good communication partners. The way we were treated from the begining to the end the staff were amazing, from the relaxing lunch to the awesome dinner service we could not fault anything and we were only there for one night which we wish it was two.A true hidden gem. Warm welcome and individual notes of welcome in the rooms . Very comfortable and clean rooms with fridge and coffee /tea making facilities . Great views from the individual patios , close to the vineyard for wine tasting. The location and setting was sublime, the staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was spacious and really comfortable. We had an all-round amazing stay!. The setting in the mountains space and views. The food at the restuarant was great and the room was very comfortable.Five star in every respect. Wines rather pricey. Nothing!!. Not a dislike but more of a piece of constructive criticism. A little 'tweaking' of the dinner menu food would benefit guests and the venue. I found better restaurants in the town of Tulbagh which is a few minutes drive away. small things. could'nt pick up the free wi-fi and a courtesy phone by the pool would have been handy for drinks/ food orders. Limited choice in the restaurant evening menu. Thought that the food offering was mediocre but acceptable. nothing - it was soooo devine there. Bottle of wine in room pantry is too pricy to open. I have nothing negative to say. We really had a fantastic time. A ridiculously high room service fee to bring a salad to our room for us to have lunch on our private patio. Tulbagh - most places closed for winter season. Whole place closes from Sat. lunchtime. Could find nowhere pleasant to have coffee in town!. Road noise early in the morning from heavy vehicles. There was some mold in our bedroom on the walls and front desk did not often answer the reception telephone. Drain in shower did not function and flood ensued.I telephoned reception and was told that they knew of this problem and they would send housekeeper with towels to mop up.I said we should never have been given the room when the fault was known.No response. Nothing to dislike. paying the bill. Twin bed was very narrow and uncomfortable. The room was very light at night. The water in the taps is disgusting. They need to get a filtration system installed. Called to request checking in 30min early in order to be able to make it to a wedding in Porterville and was told in a very dismissive attitude the check in time is stated as 14:00. In the end already paid for the booking but skipped staying there all together and drove back to Cape Town at 2am. Won't recommend it at all due to complete inflexibility since in my view a 30min early check was a reasonable request.
