we were upgraded in a luxury bedroom with marble bathroom with an amazing view on martini tower and the grand place.
the reception was very friendly. The old England decoration made us feel as if we were in a book of Agatha Christie.
The hotel is right in the center of the town. In the same building there are bars and restaurants.

Location, It is in the center of Groningen and still the room was silence.
We were upgraded to a en-suite without any additional charge. The staff of De Doelen was very nice and helpful. The location was fine in the center. Lots of nice shops and restaurants
The main entrance of the hotel De Doelen gave a positive picture of what to expect. Unfortunately, brought about by the decline, through a kind of working place , brought to our hostel. That inner courtyard was all rubbish and old furniture. Many staff smoked a cigarette or a Spot of Bother spoke out. evening we had on our entrance into the courtyard.
there s no parking in front of the hotel but that s the price to pay to be in this amazing location.
Breakfast is charged extra. It should be included in the price.
The hotel's restaurant lacks in quality, since it offers - kind of - fast food meals in restaurant prices.

-To get to the actual rooms you have to walk trough a little courtyard and past the kitchen.

-Bathtoom tap did not work as well as the bathroom doors did not close.
Our experience was all good. The main entrance of the hotel De Doelen gave a positive picture of what to expect. Unfortunately, we were brought through the backdoor, to a kind of working place, brought to our hostel. That inner courtyard was all rubbish and the was a lot of old furnish. Many staff smoked a cigarette or spoke about a conflict. When we entranced the inner court in the evening, we did not found it very pleasant.
