the main sites. We stayed in Moulay which was perfectly designed in a

The breakfast was amazing and served up on the roof top terrace.
I would strongly recommend ordering dinner at the hotel - you have to order in the morning and it isn't cheap but it is delicious. very romantic too as more often than not you'll be the only couple in the dining area.

From the start, we were made to feel very welcome. Even before we reached the hotel, the owners had worked out that our plane had been delayed (diverted to Agadir because of a sandstorm) and adjusted the evening meal for us.
The ambience of the hotel was very relaxing, with a quiet courtyard and plunge pool for reflection and reading during the heat of the day. Flowers in all the rooms really did add something extra. And the turtles were a star attraction - role models for contemplation.

We cannot speak too highly of Riad Matham. The building has been beautifully refurbished and offers an oasis of calm amidst the chaotic bustle of the medina. Our room was well equipped and spotlessly clean, as was the whole Riad. The choice of the riad was important for us as we aimed at spending 7 days in Essaouira. Luckily,
we could not choose better than the riad La Fontaine Bleue. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms with a view on the ocean are very nice and comfortable (e.g. the room called Zoulikha).
The riad also offers very nice dinners. I offered help and they allowed me to help in the kitchen so that I could learn how to prepare a wonderful couscous royal and chat with the staff about life
