The morning prayers were very interesting. There are two parts - chants at the prayer room, followed by the fire ritual at a shrine beside the temple. Koyasan is absolutely beautiful, and definitely worth a trip out of the
hustle and bustle of Osaka. Eko-in was very good. A beautiful temple in
lovely surroundings and very peaceful. The staff were very friendly and
polite. I was a bit nervous about the shared bathroom, but it didn't
end up being too bad and I actually ended up having a wonderful relaxing
soak in the bath on my own. The other concern I had was about the food
as it is vegetarian buddhist cuisine and I'm not a fan of tofu! But
