I love, love this hotel. I had a room on the upper floor, under the eaves, so to speak. It was gorgeous. The private bathroom was ultra modern, clean and complete with a bath and a shower. The hotel is located near a park and the walk ...il anello, that surrounds the town. So it is great! And Orvieto was a real surprise: so inviting, and interesting. I definitely recommend both the hotel and the town. Valeria and Fausto, the owners, go out of their way to be helpful. I give this a five star rec.
所有评语 » The room we had was delightfully furnished in a simple but tasteful style, with lovely white fluffy towels. The room we had was charming with its beams and slanting roof and the lovely terrace to sit out on. The common room we had to share with others also had charm and was a good place to sit to use the internet. We appreciated the coffee machine - great to have good coffee in the morning. The linear walking park just behind Porta Vivaria offers excellent views north of Orvieto. This walk also goes straight to Caserma for group buses, or the Funicolare that takes you down to the Orvieto Station. Heading south from the B&B you are in Piazza del Popolo. Also, the rooms were very clean and the staff incredibly friendly--indicative of Orvietans. The bedroom and breakfast room are gorgeous with beautiful decorations. Bathroom is also clean. And there is a terrace with nice view extended from the breakfast room. Owner is friendly and helps carrying the heavy luggage. He also led me to the bus station. The free coffee machine has various options. The whole experience is very nice and enjoyable. The room was quite large with plenty of space to spread out. There was no daily housekeeping or change of towels that we have come to expect, however we were given clean towels whenever we requested them. The lovely building, near the north wall of the town, is in a nice neighborhood within walking distance to main POI, restaurants and shopping. Our room on the top floor had exposed beams and a spectacular view from the terrace. Orvieto is a gem of a town with plenty of history, wonderful sights and excellent restaurants. This was definitely one of the top highlights of our 3 week trip to Italy. We loved B&B Porta Vivara so much we wished we would have planned to stay another night and we would definitely stay there again in the future. The room was perfect for our family of 5...very comfortable and clean!. Located right in the centre of Orvieto, 5 mins walk from the cathedral. Nice people. Beautiful building inside and out. Not too big a hotel. Quiet location even for a city!. Charming suite w/ wood beam ceilings Linens smelled unusually good Rooftop terrace garden Warm & friendly welcome. Very friendly helpful staff, beautiful clean room, nicely appointed. Love the beams in the upper rooms. Owner Fausto was very friendly and helpful! The beds were fabulous and the shower was huge. Amply sized rooms and amenities. La posizione ed il silenzip!!. Room was beautiful, beamed ceiling. Good location near minibus stop, main sights. The breakfast was barely adequate. An offering of something less sweet would be much better. Too many sweet pastries. Yoghurt and fruit would be much better. There are only stairs, but it did not bother me as the owner helped carrying the luggage up and down. Only that the stairs are dark in late night. It would be better to have more lighting. Forty some stairs and no elevator even for luggage.....not recommended for the unfit or elderly. No breakfast, but coffee machine and packaged pastries available on fourth floor. Unfortunately, due to a pre-trip mishap, there were some physical limitations with mobility. We had to climb many stairs to reach our room and at times this was difficult. (Not the fault of the owners). Breakfast was minimal at best, in fact would not call it breakfast. No on site parking, although it is expected in the centre of a city. Breakfast was entirely pre-packaged, no milk for cereal or tea Difficult to find (no signage other than small print above doorbell). Shower leaked and breakfast was very minimal. Smell of laundry detergent amex card machine did not work Run down entrance area. La colazione...troppo spartana!. Had to ask for fresh towels on the fourth day, room was never cleaned or straightened up during stay. Breakfast was pre-packaged pastries and coffee from an automated dispenser, which smelled. Breakfast in the nearby piazza was much better and inexpensive.
