  Excellent hotel inside, outside is not good but then nowhere outside in Delhi is very good. Don't be put off by the outside appearence of the hotel--when you go inside it's a transformation. All the hotel food was 'safe'. All the restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful. Good bar with very very friendly staff. The music in - Business room was a good size (HUGE bed!) and with fridge & safe in the room. Breakfast was a good mix of Western & local dishes. Freshly made omelettes were delicious. Staff friendly, efficient & helpful. Security on the door was a positive. Location was good too - close to Connaught Place & good for getting our bearings in New Delhi. It's also not too far from Old Delhi. It's also close to a key metro station.

  I stayed at the hotel for one night seeing the sights of Delhi. It was nice and clean, and must have recently been refurbished. Apart from being half a mile away from the Connaught place, it was fantastic. The only downside was some noise from main road traffic all night, but it added to the character.   We arrived at Shanti House at 11 in the evening. Despite being later than expected due to a delayed flight, several of the staff met us at the door. They offered us glasses of juice and garlands, as well as noting that room service would be happy to accommodate us. The service was amazing and th - I stayed at Shanti home twice, once at the beginning and once at the end of my India trip. It is a little way from the city centre, which is nice as a bit quieter and anyway only 3 minutes from the metro. It is a lovely, spotlessly clean place and the staff go out of their way to make you welcome. The food is their rooftop restaurant was some of the best I had in India and anytime I return to Delhi I will always stay here.
