Honestly, what's not to love about this hotel/apartment/suites? We fall in love with it the minute we walked in and was very sad when we had to leave. The location is great, very close to almost everything. Although, one thing I would like to mention, the road that it is currently sitting on being worked on. And there is also construction nearby (like right outside our window) so there are noises in the early morning. There is a parking garage right across the road, make sure you let the.
所有评语 » Tastefully furnished; loved the reading alcove and many skylights and exposed wooden beams of the top suite. Excellent location - just one street over from the main shopping/dining street which can get noisy during the weekend. The breakfast was more than enough for 3 people, with delicious sourdough bread left hanging on your doorknob every morning. Goose down comforters and Icelandic wool blankets were really cosy. Good soundproofing muted the construction sounds which began at around 8 A.M. . My teen-aged son and I were in Iceland for the first time, and the Residence Suites were comfortable and beautiful. It was the perfect place for us to explore from, near the tour bus terminal and city center. Staff was helpful and friendly. The kitchenette was well stocked. Breakfast basket was put in the refrigerator the evening before, and fresh bread was brought to the door every morning. The heated towel bar was a nice surprise! Even in the summer it came in handy. We will definitely return. From reception to checkout, this place was absolutely wonderful. It was quiet except for Saturday night (actually Sunday morning) when the nearby bars closed and people were leaving and being very noisy on the street. This is an issue no matter where you stay in Reykjavik. Fantastic new hotel just minutes from the city center. Excellent and helpful staff. Concierge was great. Because the breakfast was left in the fridge the day before, the choice can get tiring after 5 days. Having said that, we always had a bite to eat if we came home earlier than expected. The beds seemed narrower than the standard hotel single beds (and we are petite), though comfortable. Nothing. Nothing. None. There was no bidet in the toilet (actually i did not see any in whole country). Shower head was broken. Also water was floating to the toilet side from shower. There could have been more stands for keys and other little stuff. But these were only a small minus for hotel. A minor point but instructions for the microwave would have been handy. Very weak WiFi signal. No plug for basin in bathroom. Minute bars of soap. The only problem was that major construction was being done on the street that runs in front of the hotel and it was difficult to drive to it. Currently road is being worked on, had tremendous noise all day long, also had to walk to the nearest intersection for taxis etc. I could not get into the hotel for about 20 minutes. Staff made several mistakes and did not do anything to compensate. When we arrived from airport late at night it showed that they had upgraded us to a better room but unfortunately they faild to tell us and this room was situated in another building. We had to walk with heavy luggage in wind and rain (only about 300 meters, but still). They also forgot to clean our room on our first day, and did not have staff to do it when we got back in the evening and pointed it out.
