- Our host Thorey was extremely welcoming and helpful; offering lots of recommendations and guidance - We stayed in an apartment separate from the primary guesthouse, which was quite large and comfortable - Both the guesthouse and the apartment are easy walking distance into city center (for people who are accustomed to walking) - Both the guesthouse and the apartment are far enough from the city center that noise is not a problem (as we understand it can be downtown) - It is easy to day trip o.
所有评语 » We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent. The atmosphere is amazing, it is so cozy the family host is so charming, I wrote countryside because you can go out of Reykjavik and return to this "art deco style" beautiful house, which is situated in an excellent place, close to bus station an airport, and also downtown. The breakfast time is unique is a lovely table with delicious fresh food where you can chat with other travelers with music, a very singular experience. The best thing about this guesthouse are the owners. Very kind and knowledgeable. It was easy to get to. It's very much like temporarily joining a household (we got to the room and the cat had made itself at home on the bed). This might not work for everyone, but we thought it was nice. Breakfast was good. Even though the rooms didn't lock, we felt safe (as we did in all of Reykjavik). Good for a 1-2 night stay. Our host and hostess were very friendly. Breakfast was very nice and even included Danish pastry, a favorite of mine. Since we only had one day in Rekjavik we especially liked that it was only several blocks from some famous landmarks, a small lake with swans and we could walk to dinner and shopping. It,s quite comfortable guesthouse not far from the city center and bus terminal. Personal (owner) are very good people: ready to help or answer any questions about Iceland and Reykjavik. I think it's very important to find such place in other country where i can feel myself at home. Located in a quite residential neighborhood, it is only a five minute walk to the main downtown area or to the BSI main bus station. It was the perfect location for us to stay in Reykjavik. The hostess was also very nice and helpful. And the breakfast was good. Good location, walking distance to all Reykjavik attractions and bus stop for the transfer from Kevlavik. We had a very spacious apartment with all the facilities for a self sustaining stay. Really enjoyable stay!. We booked a double room and requested for a quiet room. When we arrived, we were given an apartment, which was great. It was very quiet and we had a good rest after a long journey. Very friendly and warm hospitality by the family running this guesthouse. Large, clean and generously equipped apartment. Excellent location near the cathedral. Breakfast was included and delicious, the bathroom was spacious and clean, it was a hassle free, quiet, friendly experience. The host is very friendly. nice cabin nice diner. - For anyone with cat allergies, the main guesthouse may be a problem - The main guesthouse is an historical house. For those with severe dust allergies, it might be a problem -the bathroom in the guest apartment was pretty tiny, and the shower door was broken or didn't work properly. Still not sure where the showers are located! No key for the room. Minor renovations on the outside of building were occurring during our stay. Of course the workers made some noise, but this was only during normal working hours so it was not much of an issue. nothing. why Facilities just 'good': old kitchenfacilities. letsbookhotel.com listed a TV in the room, but no TV was provided. letsbookhotel.com should update their information to reflect this situation. the apartment is old and not clean. Not sound proof at all. too much rain !!!.
