Hotel Berg was a recommendation from our car hire company Blue Cars. We had an early flight back to the UK and wanted somewhere near to the airport. We had been travelling around the Westernfjords where hotels are not big on welcoming exteriors... it's hard to tell if they are open at times. Please don't misunderstand me we loved the Westernfjords and can't wait to return but it is a completely differant approach to tourism. When we spotted the Hotel Berg across the harbour it looked both invi.
所有评语 » Stayed in one of the two floor suites, complete with skylight in the ceiling above the bed. Lovely decor, clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful, offered to take us to the airport the next day and told us that breakfast was available from 4am! They have a Northern Lights wake up call that you can put your name down for. There's a coffee machine (with hot water and tea bags available too) in the lounge. Very relaxing atmosphere here we found. Good buffet breakfast; bread, meats, fr. Strayed 5 nights and toured Iceland on long day trips. (18 hours of daylight) The location was perfect and this is a well run family business with a great breakfast in the morning to start your day. The room we had overlooking the small fishing harbor and the quietness to sleep was awesome. The staff was always willing to accommodate and the free airport pickup and return which takes less than 10 minutes at any hour is great. Hotel Berg even made car arrangements for us and the car was deliver. This is a family owned B&B and the owners (I met the father and his son) are the nicest people you could meet. If your flight does not get in until late at night, this is the best place to check-in. It is about 5 minutes from the airport and they come and pick you up in their station wagon. They have food and drinks in the kitchen that you can have if you come in really late. Breakfast is excellent. Shower pressure is excellent. And if you're taking the bus to Reykjavik, you can catch it fr. If you get from Reykjavik on Sbk bus, the hotel is right next to the last bus stop, so it's really convenient to get there even if you don't rent a car. The hotel is really nice, cozy, quiet, and has an amazing atmosphere. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are nicely designed! The coffee-machine is available from 4 am to 12 am, it is a very nice bonus ;) Next to the hotel there is a lovely restaurant "Duus"! Also, the transfer to the airport was fast and nice. If you travel in winter, make . The staff was not only friendly but more accommodating than any hotel staff we have experienced anywhere. Not only did they book tours and a rental car (delivered to our door) and pick us up and return us to the airport and change airline reservations for us and serve us breakfast and let us into our room when we arrived at dawn rather than mid afternoon, as advertised; they did all that gratis (no tips allowed) and with a smile. The room and breakfast room and lounge were comfortable, attracti. - Although somewhat hard to find in Keflavik, it is in a good location to a restaurant (alking distance), the airport, filling station. Overlooking quaint harbor. - Very comfortable bed & pillows - New and well designed rooms - Heating did not work in 1st room (actually quite a negative) but I was relocated to a smaller 2nd room which was fine, so, no problem. - Excellent breakfast starting at 4 AM to accommodate early flights - Free parking - Wifi in room - Tea & coffee available t. The view from the hotel is charming. One can see a snug and protected harbor and beyond that the ocean surf hitting an exposed coast. The feel in the public area is that of a pleasantly appointed living room. The rooms are comfortable and well thought out. Breakfast is ample and good. We have stayed there twice--the first two years ago. In those intervening two years I have often thought fondly back on our first visit and was glad to return. Within walking distance (ca. 5 minutes) one can . A very nice and homey hotel, ideally located in a wonderful neighborhood, within 10 minutes drive from Keflavik Airport and 15 minutes from the Blue Lagoon. We arrived to the airport at 9 pm, called the hotel and Carolina came to pick us up. There's a good restaurant within 3 minutes walk from the hotel. The room was cozy, internet connection was very good, breakfast was very rich and the staff very friendly. In short, definitely a great hotel!. Hotel Berg has been recently renovated and the rooms are lovely - clean, spacious and very cosy. Hotel arranges airport pick up / drop off, which is very handy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on a hill that overlooks the town of Klefavik and the port. Was lovely to go for a walk along the sea cliffs in the morning and take a wonder into town. The atmosphere calm and the decor charming. The proximity to the airport was extremely good and I was driven to and fro efficiently. The people at Hotel Berg made every effort to make sure I had a pleasant stay. I will definitely recommend it to others and go back myself if I should visit Iceland. We loved this hotel! The owners are delightful and so helpful, the rooms are lovely and spacious, the lounge is comfortable and filled with books, the view over the small harbor is lovely, the location is great for a visit to the Blue Lagoon and quite convenient to other attractions yet in a quiet setting away from Rejkavik. Hotel Berg is probably the best hotel we 've stayed in - great staff, clean, spacious room, amazing bathroom, relaxing common living room with great harbour views and free unlimited coffee, hot chocolate and tea...Moreover, it is a great choice if you arrive late or leave early from Keflavik airport as it is really close and they offer free pick-up and drop-off to the airport.Just let them know in advance. Just loved the place and people. Olof and his family are wonderful and very helpful with arranging car hire, trips and letting us know the best places to see and how to get there. Hotel warm very clean and really cosy. More like a home than a hotel. Great restaurant 2 minutes walk away, beautiful harbour setting. Collected us and dropped us back at airport free of charge. Would highly recommend the place. This is a great hotel. It is close to Keflavik airport and also close to the sights of Keflavik and the Blue Lagoon is just 20 minutes away. The a very good restaurants very close-by. The hotel is very comfortable and clean and the rooms are large. Our room had the largest bathroom I have ever seen in a hotel! The breakfast was good and available from 4am which suited out flight out of Iceland. We liked everything about the Hotel Berg. It is a beautiful boutique hotel close to the airport (shuttle service ) and in a lovely harbour setting.It was very quiet and peaceful. A clean comfortable bed, sitting area and a lovely breakfast was provided too. We would certainly recommend this Hotel to our Family and friends and are considering a trip to Iceland perhaps next year!. We were picked up really late from the airport, and arrived to a lovely clean room, with super comfy beds and a lovely bathroom. It was exactly what we needed. The self service breakfast idea worked really well, and the waffle maker was a really nice touch. They even organised for my hire car company to come and pick me up to collect my car, and staff were lovely. Best hotel we stayed in during our entire trip. This is a very nice new small hotel which the owners have put a lot of love into designing and making guests feel at home, even if they are having a shortstay before a flight out. They drive people to and from airport, have breakfast from 4 am, lovely lounge with view over the marina, much nicer than staying at the actual airpot hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. They were all eager to help out anytime we asked for directions, ideas, or suggestions then they did all the calling and footwork needed to make it happen. I called the hotel and they arrived very promptly. The hotel is beautifully laid out with great views of the marina and a short walk to a fabulous restaurant. The facilities in the room were amazing. The owners are friendly and welcoming and should probably charge more for their rooms. We stayed here on the last night of our trip to Iceland. It is very close to the airport. They offer a free ride to the airport, have a GREAT breakfast and a nice hot tub for unwinding after your trip. The hotel was beautiful and very clean. We only stayed one night but would stay here again if we ever need to be in Keflavik. The owners picked us up at midnight when we arrived at the nearby Keflavik Airport, and drove us back to the airport at the end of our stay. There was a good restaurant close to the hotel, a buffet breakfast beginning at 4.00am and transfers to the airport. The focus is to provide a good service for people coming in and out of the country and they do it very well. Hotel Berg is a fantastic place to stay..especially if you are flying into or out of Keflavik.It is homely,exceptionally smart and incredible value for money.It has a lovely restaurant a few minutes' walk away beside a lovely little fishing harbour.Don't hesitate to book a stay here!. The staff was very accommodating. We were "stuck" at the bus station with no available transportation...and, a staff member drove 40 minutes to get us. Also....we had a very early flight. We stayed in over 17 hotels on our trip to Iceland/Norway and parts of the US and the Berg was by far the best place we stayed on this trip and other trips we have taken (including the 4 stars). Couldn't have been more pleased with how well the room and hotel were. If visiting the area, a must stay location. We were allowed to check in early with ease as the room was ready. Near KEF Convenient Extremely useful staff who handle everything to make sure that you get to the airport on time; even went on line an printed our boarding passes. Breakfast was availble at 5am! and a free transfer to the airport at 5.50am was included in the price. What more could you ask. The rooms were modern and very well appointed...comfy too. Friendly welcome from the owner, nice atmosphere, clean rooms, very good location in front of the fishing harbor and 5 min. drive from the airport. Having the possibility to have breakfast at 04:00 AM before the flight was very nice. No dislikes. We were only staying for one night!!. This hotel was perfect for our trip and we have absolutely no complaints. If I had to nit-pick, I thought our room was a bit on the warm side, but you can just partially open the window to make it cooler. No downside really. We liked everything about the Berg. Nothing - it was great. There was absolutely nothing we could complain about. (Our stay at the Hotel Berg was on May 23rd/13). Lighting in bathroom very poor, so shaving and putting in contact lenses very difficult. I could hear a chap snoring next door, so the walls are very thin.... Didn't get a good sleep. None!. -. Needed an extra pillow. There were no tissues in the room. The location of Keflavik made for a good location for us as we were just as interested in the area West of Reykjavík but may not be the best for others. About 45 minutes from Rejkavik. Nothing at all!. Everything was excellent!. Nothing. N/A. Lack of air-condition in the bathroom?. Lack of closet space, which is not a big problem if you are there only for a couple of nights.If you wanted to travel around, the bus service didn't seem especially easy to use, so having a car is advised unless you want to stay put. I liked everything about this hotel and wish that I had stayed longer. A little bit pricey. No evening meal. N/A.
