Great little cottages by a river. No noisy neighbours, no "guesthouse slamming doors". Great place to explore the area. Has everything you need. Functionnal kitchen, bbq, hot tub. Wi-fi available in checkinn area. We met the most jovial Icelandic host! Would definitely go back. One of the best value for money we had in a month touring Iceland. Next to a nice little modern church. Excellent roomy cottages with all you need. Possible to use camping site facilities (washing machine). Friendly staff on-site provides information and help (e.g. let me use their printer).

The cottage was very well equipped. Very comfortable and spacious. good value for money, nice staff. The cottage was right on the river and had a gorgeous location. It was two bedrooms with plenty of room and has a full kitchen as well. Nice cottages. Location next to river and nature reserve on island in river. Close to loop road and near town for getting provisions. The man in charge of the cottages and campground was friendly and helpful. Convenient to highway. Good restaurant in town nearby. Lars was a lovely and thoughtful host. Our cabin was spacious and faced the river. We found an easy, short hike originating on the property. All in all a great stay. Not a lot. No wi-fi in cottages....But they are working on it. No WLAN in cottage (only at office building). The beds are not so clean. Lights in the rooms are dim. The bamboo curtains are rather dirty. One of the two bedrooms is a little room with bunk beds. Una de las habitaciones es con literas. not at all. The location has wireless internet but we could not connect. There was a hot tub that was not set up and no instructions on how to use. Only cold water came out of the hose to fill it. There were multiple windows with 5+ dead flies on the window sill. And the shower did not drain quickly so it overflowed on to the bathroom floor. Would not recommend to a friend. Strong sulfur smell of the hot tub. However that's often as the water is directly used from geothermal areas. Dirty towels not removed for our stay, mattresses were very soiled and stained, the place smelled of rotten eggs whenever the hot water was running. This was because the hot water for the whole site had hydrogen sulfide in it so the hot tub, shower water and sinks all smelled strongly when hot water was used. Particles of ?? in hot tub water and the tub was very slippery. Fridge was totally iced up. The man in charge was often not available during his working hours or too busy. This seems to be a glorified camping facility. When we arrived, no one around and no answer to phone number posted. Impatient woman finally arrived and seemed chagrined that we did not bring towels and sleeping bags or bedding, for which we had to pay an extra $15 each. If I had known linens were not provided in the price, I would have booked elsewhere. Well, the crossroads town of Blonduos is fairly forgettable. We were charged separately £36 extra for hiring bed linen on top of the room charges. This was mentioned prior to the booking. The cottage was very dusty the beds were very dirty. We were expected to strip the beds before checking out!.
