This was a very unique experience in the country. We loved the German couple that ran the place. It was a little hard to find if you don't come from Triberg (recommend you travel from Triberg to the place). The dinner was delicious, the accomodations were wonderful, the price was great, and the teenagers even dove in the "natural pool" for some fun. All I can say about this hotel in the country side is it is a place I would go back to over and over, but then again I love the countryside over cities. The staff was excellent and I would especially like to say the young lady from Romania who attened to our needs was wonderful. Highly recommended for a wonderful get away.
所有评语 » Very friendly staff especially the owner, an old lady who was very helpful although didn't speak English and cared a lot about all the details of the guest house. The location is excellent we enjoyed very quiet evenings after hectic days. Sunset from the room balcony was super. Would recommend it to friends. A very tipical german country house. The old lady running the place is the kindest person in Germany. She can't speak one word in english, but she managed to make us understand everything, including the dinner menu,bringing a pc at the table, with the german-italian translator. Good breakfast. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. You couldn't ask for a better location to relax. Our kids had a great time as well. The internet was free and the drive up to the hotel was typical of country side locations. My GPS/navi got us there with no problem. The lady that runs the hotel is very nice and a wonderful cook! She was very helpful and patient (as we didn't speak German and she didn't speak English). Our room was clean and had a nice sized balcony. The view was amazing. The typical German atmosphere! The quiet and peaceful moments you get to spend here are priceless! The lady that owns it doesn't speak a word in English, but made herself understood and we had a great time! :). I loved this place! They made us feel like we were part of the family. Very loving people. The location is exelent, nice view, close to the main cokooo clocks stores and the charming town of Triberg. Location in a tiny village in the middle of the woods. Friendly and hospitable owner (old German lady). Lots of options for hiking, running and mountain biking around the guesthouse. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and had a great view of the countryside. If you find yourself close to Triberg this location is a great stay. Amazing food, friendly staff (Oma is an awesome lady) comfortable countryside hotel, will stay again if I go to Triberg. Nice location, calm and quiet. Serene backdrop. Location, value for money. countryside, meals. location. The accommodation was quiet and clean, and beds were comfortable. The rural scenery was beautiful. The breakfast was good, but some fresh fruit would have been nice. The position of the guesthouse on top of the mountain 850 meters high! Stunning views and even in April still quite a bit of snow on offer. Size of the rooms, cleanliness. We liked the breakfast, the atmosphere was amazing in the resturant. Landscape. There were a few flies so bring a fly swatter but don't let that keep you from this great country experience. It's a little bit far from the main road. It wasn't a problem for us but be prepared to bring your own toiletries as many German hotels. The road leading to the hotel is very winding and far off the beaten path. It's not far from Triberg but it's a difficult road to drive, especially at night. We liked everything!. Staff speaks only German. Furniture and facilities probably haven't been changed since the 70's (some would call it a plus). We did not stay longer. letsbookhotel.com didn't mention cash only policy of hotel, or I just plain overlooked it. Again Oma was great and allowed us to pay for the room after dinner and an afternoon of site seeing. They accept only cash. This can be an inconvenience as the nearest ATM is 8km down the hill in Triberg. Far from city and only reachable via Taxi or own vehicle. The chairs in the room are not sitting comfortable. Don't be alarmed by the access road. There are signs to help you find the place. Nothing much. approach road. We found that the staff weren't really forthcoming nor terribly approachable nor engaging. One of our two bathrooms had some drainage problems, and the message I got from the owner was that it would be very costly to fix. The lamps in the bedroom had no way to be turned on. The other room our children had was fine. We were asked to pay upfront in cash before seeing the rooms. I thought it was a bit of an unusual request. Even being on a budget, there was no hairdryer available on request; the owner said she wouldn't need one and when I asked about the guests may want one she replied that for that money it couldn't be expected!!! One to share between all the rooms available, I can expect, even on a budget. No hairdryer. GPS didn't pick it up at first. The room was very cold, the tempature outside was in the upper 30's and the heat had not been turned on. The room smelled like sewer. Bed sheets not substituted since the previous guest. You need to ask for towels. Swimming pool is a swamp with salamanders, frogs and slugs. No one speak other than german (or seams to be like this if you are presenting a claim). Be prepared to spend one hour to find the hotel even with GPS Do not believe on the photos. The pool is not blue, is slime green.
