Staffs are very friendly and helpful, it's not really close to center but it's really convenient to take the tram. We love the loction is because it's close to our client's company and it's a side street but this street must be one of the most beautiful side street in Dusseldorf! The room is big and really cozy, you can see it has an ancient luxury maison style but newly renovated. Breakfast has various choices and coffee are good. We love a lot when we stayed in this hotel. I am a big fan of family run properties due to the personalised level of service. This was no exception, with wonderful staff who spared no resource making me feel welcome. The villa is decorated so tastefully with antiques everywhere, and the Christmas decorations were the best! I highly recommend during a visit around Christmas for an authentic German experience. Breakfast is delicious and very high quality. Secure property that also takes pride in conserving energy. Lovely!.
Overall this was a great experience. I was traveling on business and only stayed one night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean, and very charming. The location was in a more residential area in a beautiful tree lined street. While I did not go into the city center, I was told it was a short tram ride away.

The location was great in a quiet, leafy street but close to tram that goes into the centre. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was pleasant. Breakfast was varied and tasty. The receptionists were very helpful and polite.
This was our second stay in Villa Achenbach. We love the location of the hotel which is very silent, residental area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast and service is excellent . Very easy access to Altstad with tram.
The staff are very friendly, especially the receptionist Joanna who made me feel at home. Sasha the manager, didn't speak much english but waived my mini-bar tab because i didn't eat breakfast on most days which was very kind!.

Every 3 years Dusseldorf stages the world's biggest trade fair in industrial plastics and rubber.
Room rates rocket and you end up paying 350 euros for one night sharing a twin, single-bedded, room.
However, staff were friendly and helpful; the wood pannelled rooms gave this Victorian-style residence a certain character, and it was the first time I've ever seen a candle-lit breakfast buffet.

As I was traveling around the MEDICA conference, I paid premium rate not reflective of the usual rates, but that is to be expected around such a major conference.

The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant, nowhere to relax with a drink other than your room. Facilities to make a hot drink in the room would be very welcome.
Breakfast room is a little bit small but they are building a new part to it already.
It is a little bit far away from city center(10euro by taxi).

Basically was all good. Wanting to look at details, the toiletries supply in bathroom can definitely be better... and the air dryer is a challenge (a slow blowing small thinghy... but this is a wide-spread problem in hotels..).

Ridiculous price for the room, probably only worth 100 euros. But every hotel in the city was cashing-in during the trade fair.

Rooms too hot, fan not working properly and blew fuses replaced swiftly. Manager/Owner is excessively protective of fittings with a poor approach with me having told me off for placing a net curtain to hlod back window that was without latch.
