We thought that the standard of cleanliness and service of Sofitel was excellent and the food in the restaurant and tapas bar was also of high quality. Neither the cost of the room nor the meals were expensive particularly compared with London. We had a form of weekend break. I will gladly stay in a Sofitel again. Excellent hotel close to the Koelner Dom and Hauptbahnhof, very good breakfast, nice lobby, comfortable room even if a bit small.

Quietness of room and fabulous breakfast. Very central, very clean, lovely room. all was excellent. I was my 40th birthday.. It was a fabulous treat, but hideously expensive if not going on a Company account. Central location. The rooms were small, just like other hotel rooms in Europe. Breakfast was 22 euros a person, that is way too much for breakfast!. We loved it all. There was a major dig up of the streets just outside - not their fault, we know!. the construction at the front of the hotel. it detracts from the view of the cathedral. the parking garage was out of order, construction was going on. Tea coffee making facilities in room would have been helpful. the plugs were not international and they did not have an adaptor, there was no internet terminal to check emails. Size of room! There was no space to place the suitcase!. Very nice hotel.I understand that there was an exhibition on during but the price was totally over the top.The rooms are a little small, but they are nicely furnished. Tea /coffee making facilities in the room would be welcome - esp as it can behard to just get a cup of coffe in the hotel before the bar opens at 5pm. I very much prefer sheets for my bed, rather than the german "couette"....but that seems an unrealistic exspectation in Germany!. To road works outside the hotel was a bit off putting. The furniture / fittings make the rooms seem a little overcrowded - very little space. The rooms should have tea / coffee making facilities at least. Cold scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage at expensive breakfast. very small room !!!!!!. The room was small with inadequate clothing storage, no drawers or shelves. There was only one short pole for hanger storage. only the tea and breakfast issue nothing eles its a good hotel.TV quality very bad. I was in this hotel once before and it was the same thing so it must be so in all rooms. small rooms. The service of the romm servise was apaulling!. It was difficult to find the hotel because there was a construction site in front of the building. The hotel had just changed its name and not the old or the new name were visible outside.Not having free wireless or braodband internet access in room, almost all other hotels which were cheaper that I stayed at had free wireless. small wardrobes, no hanger in the bathroom, no slippers.
