Brilliant location, lots of bars around and right by the Xmas market. And England beat Germany 2-1 so the trip was excellant. The fantastic view on the Gedachtniskirche just in front of our room.Shared bathroom was very clean, the beds were comfortable. The view. It had a very good view of the church, was remarkably clean, and had an easy to use shower with amazing water pressure. The hotel, which cost about as much as a private room in a hostel, had working showers, maid service and a friendly staff. It was also quiet, even though it was on a main street, which was a very big difference from the hostel we stayed at before, where I heard noise until 3 am.

It's in the middle of the shopping area. The hotel was situated very near to the Gedächtniskirche, just across the road.the location. Also, they charge 5 Euro for breakfast. I originally wanted to stay at a place that included breakfast but had to settle when I decided to go to this hotel. I never ate the breakfast so I do not know whether it was worth the money. Not for people who need high quality hotel rooms, more hostel-like atmosphere. During the football European cup the partying on the streets was somewhat noisy at night.The beds are too soft. I couldn't figure out what's the system of hot and cold water. In one moment it's ok, in other it's either too hot or too cold.The breakfast is not included in the price:-(. Smoking smell in a shared bathroom. Watching TV was a bit tricky (you have to use two remote controls).It was a little bit far from the center, and the night clubs... Tents in the room were too small for the window. View from the window (scrapyard); smell in the bathroom. The furniture in the bathroom is a bit cheap; no drawer to put your stuff. There was actually plenty of room to put one. The shower was nice, though a little bit hard to tune.As you know isn't a four star hotel... staff was good but they promised to fix a closet door that was broken when we got there and it remained "unfixed" until we left. Staff were not particularly knowledgable about the local area. We walked several kms to find a laundromat, on the receptionists advice, only to discover one around the corner. Our room was not ready on arrival, and we didn't receive any towels until after we asked. Free Internet connection barely worked during the length of our stay. Our 'double bed' was simply two single beds pushed together. Very hot, too hot for sheets!. People were smoking throughout the Hotel and would waff into our room. rooms on 5th floor while the only small elevator (4 ppl max) only goes up to 4th. No bell on the floor door, visitors were waiting outside for 30min b4 we noticed. Smoking in the premises. The hotel is old and needs renovation. Towels were very old, room rathersmall, there was no iron in the whole hotel, bedware has been changedonce in 5 days. Toilet ventilation stinked like overfried oil, this wasreally disgusting.Hard to find with the hotel name in yellow on a transparent glass. Really makes it hard to spot, esp. at night. There was no hot water in the shower at one point. Our room was on the street side which was very noisy. Try to get a room at the back.The lift was too small to fit my stroller and me that I had to lift it in sideways and remove my backpack. the room looked like a jail's cell. I was shocked by the low quality of everything. Bath door didn't close, was broken. The lamp on the ceiling had dead flys inside. The walls were dirty and had wholes from painting that weren't there anymore. The TV sounded as it is going to explode. Even we had non-smoker room, it smelled like it when someone smoked on the floor.
