+ very friendly reception and personel, + breakfast really good, + central Location of Hotel allows to reach all Points of interest by Walking. + car parking in the back of the Hotel is protected and available - this is really good since alternative parking in City area would be very difficult. Only stayed one night during a 3 week tour and only stayed in Valence as it was on my chosen route. Modern hotel. Room ok. Secure parking through side entrance. Close to nice square with several restaurants. Not sure whether there's much to do here.

We stopped in this hotel on our way to Corsica and on the way back and would stay again if we travel that way!. Excellent service by staff who spoke English and were able to refer us to a great restaurant. The position of the hotel is great for getting around the town and seeing what it has to offer. We had a wonderful stay, if only one night. Hotel completely renovated with taste. Our De-luxe room was located on the top floor with a nice view of the city. It had wooden floors, large TV screen, modern bathroom etc.. We liked the very helpful receptionist who sorted our Corsica Ferries cancellation for us! The location in the town centre, comfortable room with shower. Very central location close to good restaurants and bars and old town. Good base for sightseeing. Large carpark, modern,minimalist feel. convenient parking at 9 euros per night, very comfortable bed and modern spotless bathrooom. Easy stroll across road into old town. Fabulous location. Parking at very reasonable rate. At few broken tilles in the bathroom and torn curtains did not ruin our stay. Fine hotel in center of Valence with parking facility. Valence is full of shops, bars and restaurants and Hotel de France is an excellent location, with parking, to explore. good location, clean, parking. - air conditioning did not really work but was also not required (it was chilling enough outside and opening a window sufficient) - otherwise room would have been too warm. The Antique chairs (to watch TV) were nice but not comfortable. Espresso Coffee maker could be of better quality.. Even though a large sign in the elevator says: "No-smoking throughout this property" there were people smoking in the bar area and we could smell smoke all over the Lobby... Double rooms are small although family rooms/rooms for 3 are very spacious. Initially we got a room next to the elevator, although we requested a quiet room in our booking. Gracefully resolved by the hotel, we got a quiet and upgraded room (at no extra charge). The weather. Nothing really, great location, great staff, great hotel. Breakfast has very limited choices, parking is rather expensive. Lack of attention - fabulous lounge/ bar area - no-one to take an order for a tea in the afternoon, or for a nightcap after dinner. Breakfast expensive for a fairly meagre offering, and after having to go in search of someone to provide hot water for tea was a bit put out when they finally pitched up that the only greeting was a demand for our room number. slightly cramped breakfast facilities.
