  Bayeux is a picturesque town in Normandy and I'm so happy we chose La Tour Louise as our base for exploring the region. William, our host, was very hospitable and gave excellent tips on things to see and do. In fact, the places he pointed out to us were probably the highlights of our tour of the D-Day sites. The - The Location is excellent for exploring Bayeux on foot. Most of the major sightseeing is within several blocks and parking is free for those with an automobile. It is also a great point for day tripping to all parts of the Normandy coast and WWII Invasion points of interest. We stayed 3 nights and could have found enough activities for many more nights.   The room had touches of extra effort from the decorations to little candies left on the night stand. The staff was incredibly helpful and pleasant, the breakfast well priced and delicious. This was the best hotel we stayed in out of hotels in London, Paris, Mont. St Michel and Normandy.   The Hotel was conveniently located near the train station and near the center of town, within easy walking distance of everything we wanted to do or see.   This is our third stay at Hôtel d'Arromanches Pappagall and it gets better each time. We will be back again. My family of four booked two rooms for two nights in late February 2013. The rooms were comfortable, clean and centrally located. We were greeted warmly and the staff worked hard to please us. We've been to Europe 13 times in 14 yea - The owners were very friendly and took great care of us from the moment we walked in the door. The hotel is right at the heart of town, near the museum, beach, a great patisserie, shops and restaurants. Why go to another restaurant, though, when the best dinner we had on our trip was courtesy of the chef the inn hired for their restaurant. Chef Amaury is fantastic. The town is in a great location if you intend to go to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery.
