We stayed at the Relais St.-Loup for five nights in may 2013.
The reception by our hosts was heartwarming and so very kind.
The house is a former 18th century hunting lodge, a coache house with a magnificant (closed at night with of plenty free parking space) garden and is completely restored by the owners and hosts, Nelly and Eric. In the coache house is a cottage for 2 adults and two childeren. Futhermore, there is a sauna and spa in a seperate space in the coach house, to be used by the gue. 所有 评语 »
Located in the heart of Bayeux, this is a renovated 18th C. fine home
whose owners originally lived in Paris before adopting a more relaxed
lifestyle in this historic small city. The scale of the room was
unbelievably large--our room with its separate large bathroom felt like
a small apartment! Relais St-Loup is located with easy walking distance
of three important sites in Bayeux--the Cathedral, the Tapestry Museum,
and the War Museum, making it a perfect place to stay. The hosts were
extremel.
We stayed for 6 nights at the Relais Saint Loup in Bayeux in May 2013. The owners and hosts, Nellie and Eric, are two of the kindest and most helpful people you would wish to meet. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they went out of their way to ensure that we had an extremely pleasant stay. Each morning Nellie and Eric would prepare a continental breakfast for the guests, accommodating any special wishes and offering something different at each meal to add to the enjoyment. Nellie and E.
Location is in a quiet, narrow street
a 5 minute walk from
some decent restaurants and the cathedral, and a few minutes more to the central shopping area.
Large, and I mean large, traditionally furnished bedroom on the front of the property, with a modern, small ensuite. Shower over bath, toilet and washbasin. Bed was comfy and the area was quiet, so we had a good sleep. The room was very clean and fresh with huge windows. The owner was friendly and helpul, allowing us to park within the grounds .
We enjoyed our stay at Relais Saint-Loup and would recommend it to others visiting the area. The location is excellent for exploring the Normandy area and we enjoyed being able to walk into town for meals and shopping. The Bayeux tapestry is also within walking distance. The owners were warm and welcoming and made good recommendations for restaurants that we could walk to for dinner. We had to leave early in the morning for our Normandy tour and Eric was very accomodating and prepared breakfas.
What a breath of fresh air coming in from a week in paris! The owners
are so nice! The owners are terrific, welcoming, relaxed and helpful.
Eric speaks perfect English. This is a great deal. We had a very large
room for the three of us. Their backyard is so beautiful and relaxing. We
loved Bayeux, and of course it helped to have perfect weather! This is a
hidden jewel. It is so new and the prices are so great that this great
deal will change sooner than later. Grab it while you can!.
We stayed in the separate self-catering cottage(with private garden too) for one night on our arrival in France. Its very spacious and ideal for a family with 2 children. The location is superb as its easy walking distance to the city centre and a boulangerie is close at hand for breakfast. The wifi doeasn't reach the cottage but there is no problem in using one of the beautiful downstairs rooms in the main house for internet access.
The owners, Eric and Nellie were hospitable, friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble but not over-attentive. The room was an absolute delight very large and airy with a huge bed, the en-suite bathroom was also huge with bath/shower and separate shower unit. Breakfast was in a very pleasant room looking out on to the garden. It was quiet but within easy walking of all restaurants, attractions and shops. Loved it!.
The B&B owners, Eric and Nellie are wonderful. They made us feel
very welcome and provided information about visiting the Normandy D-Day
beaches and other sites. The room was a wonderful, extremely large, high
ceiling room in a historic building with enormous bathroom. Excellent
value for money. Well located for visiting the town center of Bayeux and
the nearby D-Day museums and sites. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
What a terrific experience to stay at Relais Saint-Loup! We were only
there for one night, but I wish it could have been more. Eric and Nelly
were wonderful hosts. They helped us with information on where to dine,
and then made the reservation for us, since we are, regrettably, not French-
fluent. It was a pleasant drive from the Beaches of Normandy to the
house, and the town of Bayeux was charming. I would love to return!.
Eric and Nellie have a beautiful house in a quiet street in Bayeux. They are both extremely welcoming and thoughtful and will help in any way they can. We had the family suite which was spacious and comfortable and we used the drawing room in the evening to sit together. It's a short walk to all the tourist sites and many restaurants. Would highly recommend. Good luck Eric and Nellie!.
The apartment at Relais Saint-Loup was lovely. It was very close to the centre of Bayeux, but still very quiet and relaxing. We had our own garden, and everything we could have wished for in the apartment. It was a wonderful atmosphere. The hosts were amazing, going beyond what we could ever have expected. I would highly recommend Relais Saint-Loup to anyone wanting to go to Normandy.
We stayed for four nights and greatly enjoyed it. The famly suite was comfortable, beautifully appointed, quite spacious and had a separate room for our son. The owners were very accommodating to our schedule and spoke excellent English. The location is beautiful, historic and quiet but just a few minutes walk from all of the sights, restaurants and shopping.
Good location , just a ten minute stroll into town. Owners are very attentive and friendly. Good breakfast served around large table - opportunity to meet other guests. Rooms are spectacular and huge. Parking on site a bonus. New venture for the owners and we wish them every success. Had one of our best ever meals at the Rapiere in central Bayeux.
The hosts were charming and helpful and sorted any problems immediately. We stayed in the cottage but were free to use the park if we wished. The location is superb, with an easy walk to the historic centre of Bayeux and the memorable 1944 Liberation Museum and War cemetery round the corner.
Very spacious room in a charming home. This was a quiet spot and very convenient to the sites of Bayeux. Very close to the cathedral and the famous tapestry. Our hosts, Eric and Ellie, were very kind and most accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay.
Our hosts, Nellie and Eric were a delightful couple who made our stay most enjoyable. As they had only been open for one week they displayed everything you would want towards a pleasurable stay. We wish them every success they deserve.
Hosts Eric and Nelly were welcoming and very helpful with information -
from sightseeing to restaurants and interesting historical stories about
the area. We would highly recommend their establishment to families,
couples or singles.
We couldn't find a fault with this accommodation. It was just so lovely, as is Eric, the owner. He has a charisma about him, and Is so suited to being a host. The rooms were very large, had comfy beds, and the location is excellent.
The owners are very welcoming and the location is outstanding for the centre city, there is private car parking and the rooms are very spacious, if you can get a booking grab it. We tried for an extra night but it was booked out.
The hosts were nice as could be. The house is a hidden gem tucked in a lovely garden behind big doors off of a street. It was easy to walk to places to eat and sights to see. Even the Chatlimar the cat is friendly.
Spacious room, beautiful home, kind hosts, gorgeous decor, comfortable bed in a quiet room, big windows, renovated bathroom, parking. Good recommendations for local restaurants, sights. We would return here.
Perfect B&B for our trip to Normandy. Eric and Nellie have turned an 18th Century hunting lodge/chateau into a beautiful, comfortable retreat. We greatly appreciated their warm, welcoming hospitality.
This was a great location and centrally located to all the D-Day sites and the Bayeux tapestry. Our host Eric was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely go back there again.
The personal touches at Relais Saint-Loup were outstanding. We felt more like family friends than guests. Our bedroom and bathroom was huge and incredably quiet at night, despite being so close to Bayeux.
Wonderful 18th century house full of character. Beautiful walled garden. Erik was a thoughtful, informative, friendly English speaking host. Our room was large and comfortable.
Eric and his wife Nellie were great hosts. The location was very good. Our room was absolutely outstanding!!!!
Would recommend this mansion to all my friends and family.
Everything!! Fabulous place to stay. A peaceful haven in the centre of Bayeux. Stylish and quirky at the same time.Great location and absolutely faultless hospitality.
Eric and Nelly are most gracious hosts. We could not have felt more welcome. Our only regret was that we weren't able to spend more time enjoying the facility.
The hosts went out of their way to accommodate us, and made us feel welcome. The bedroom and bathroom was extremely spacious and the bathroom was very modern.
Absolutely wonderful! They made us feel so welcomed in their home. Great food, warm and friendly people, charming accommodations. Would absolutely recommend.
The hospitality we received was bar none the best. Everything we needed and more was provided to us; almost without even asking. Completely fantastic.

Location, large beautiful room, great breakfast, very attentive and accommodating hosts.... short drive to Omaha Beach Golf Course :).
Eric and Nelly are terrific -- very helpful and eager to please. The facility is delightfully comfortable, and breakfast was good.
The house is superb and the owners are extremelly friendly and helpfull.
Very well located in a walk distance to city center.
Beautifully decorated former hunting lodge. Lovely rooms, generous breakfast and very friendly and helpful hosts.
Helpful staff. Good to have a suite with two separate rooms for families. Well located for sites but tranquil.
Friendly helpful owners. Beautiful room with garden view in charming old home. A short walk to center of time.
Good atmosphere of renaissance-style castle
Very friendly owners
Large rooms with pink blankets:-)
Nice garden.
The owners are very friendly and helpful with lots of information about
the area's historical sights.
The owners were helpful with dinner suggestions. Breakfast included fresh fruit which we appreciated.
Eric and his wife have a lovely home, and are very gracious in sharing it with their guests.

Just hard to find. We were adventuresome and decided to walk from the
train station. With our map,we ended up walking towards the end of
Bauyeux with rolling suitcases on country roads. Got a great workout
until we finally found it! Probably best to take a taxi from train
station! Beware huge Bayeux hotel taxes (not mentioned or included) to
the tune for us 48 euros for one night! Amazing!.
There was nothing we did not like.
Nothing, except that we hadn't the time to stay longer.
Not being able to stay longer.

Absolutely nothing. Would like to have stayed longer.
Nil.
A bit chilly, but then, it was October in Normandy. :).
This is an older villa and the WiFi could use a bit of an improvement, not necessarily a big deal for everyone.
Leaving.
Wifi didn't work in our room. You had to go downstairs in the common area. Couldn't lock our room because it had a very old door which opened with a key only and no door knob! Quaint but inconvenient.
nothing!!!.
We had to go home!.
Towels can be changed more often.
Leaving.
Missing Wi-Fi.
Towels could be softer. Needs a mirror in master bedroom so someone can
get ready for the day while someone else is using bathroom.

Shower over bath with no shower curtain.
