This hotel was once called Etap, then changed to Mercure and is now El Luxor - Eatab owned by the Egyptian group Misr Travel. All the staff are the same and are very helpful. It has extensive grounds which are all immaculately kept. Rooms are clean and well kept as are all the hallways and corridors. Location is great on the Corniche and its right next door to the Governors office so security is also good. ATM in the lobby so nice and secure. So much safer than using our cards in the streets.
所有评语 » The nile view room we had was fantastic. Breakfast is a buffet, and has a very wide selection, which will fill you up for the day! The swimming pool is great! The location for the east bank attactions, and downtown all within walking distance. The bank inside the hotel, gave us the best exchange rate. Very relaxing. I have stayed at the El Luxor three times now and everything about it is great. The staff, facilities, cleanliness, position, price, in fact everything about this hotel is absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would definitely stay there again. Loved the location of this hotel with beautiful views over the nile and only a short distance from many of the amazing sights Luxor has to offer. The staff are very helpful and the rooms are cleaned daily. Would recommend this hotel to all types of traveller. The hotel location is Excellent! very close to the Market and down town. it has a marvelous river view. and horses carriages are always waiting in front of the hotel to take you anywhere in the city with reasonable prices " you have to bargain" !. very very nice location,just a 20 minutes from Luxor airport.the hote is very clean,Very quiet and you feel comfortable and Recreation there,Room cleaned daily via room service.anyway i think this hotel one of the best hotel in luxor. The location is great. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The siege is a little anoying, therefore, we recomend the taxi driver Mr. Adel, who works rigth in front of the hotel, and speaks English. Pool area was great. Guest manager Aly Mohamed was very friendly and helpful. Very reasonably priced hotel close to everything. Good value for money Great location, just five minutes from Luxor temple and the souq Decent breakfast, and very good rooms. Nice friendly staff in a good locaction to explore luxor great for a few days but not long term break. Very friendly staff at reception. Nice Bar and seating areas. Swimming pool and area are good. The refurbished bedrooms with a Nile view are very nice. Ample choice at breakfast. In all - good value for money and I would stay here again. The Luxor Museum is very good and a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The room and the bathroom are spacious, silent and clean. The pool is nice. The breakfast is fair and the staff is ok. Food was good. Ample space in hotel & rooms. The only downside I could see was that there was no buffet breakfast, which is usually wonderful at this hotel. Because of the troubles in Cairo and shortage of guests they had an a la carte breakfast which meant you had to wait for it to be cooked and served to you. But still everything was on offer just that I like to wander around and see what I fancy to eat. wifi is now available free, but wasn't told until it was too late. 2 floors are being renovated, and there was heavy banging in the morning. (Jan 22nd 2013) Food is priced ok, but drinks aren't. Better to buy at a local shop. Nothing else to complain about, except soup spoons at breakfast!!. Redecoration going on in some areas of the hotel so a little noise can be heard but this starts late in the morning and finishes well before the evening. The A/C was not working in the whole hotel! I went on February 2013, it was 27 degrees and I'm used to sleeping in A/C ! but I was told that in winter they cannot turn on the ACs :(. some staff need to to take training courses in the art of dealing with guests,but not all staff. The upstairs restaurant offers a poor lunch. Other than the omelette I wasn't keen on the breakfast. Reception provided us with a twin room despite my booking asking for a double - this seems to be a trend for all hotels in Egypt! Internet only in lobby and that was also not working for the time of my stay. It is a bit dated and could do with a refurb. ATM machine wouldn't work...perhaps it was out of money?. some of the other guests staying at the hotel.. We were the only ones allocated an older room whilst the few staying all had the new refurbished ones why ?? If end had been given one we may have returned and just because we weref first timers there we paid same as the other returning guests ????. few guest r in the hotel this time we lived。the breakfet were servered per person。no much chioce。what a pity。. No major grumbles - the bed was not the best if like me, you prefer a firm bed - but it wasn't too bad either. As others mention, No tea / Coffee, etc in the room, but there is a kettle and mugs ???? Come on guys, easy to get that sorted!. There is wifi in the lobby but if you do not have a device you will have to wait until a staff member allows you to use one of the their computers. If you decide to walk you will suffer severe hassle from drivers of the coaches which have a stop point just in front of the hotel. Poor maintenance of rooms which requires modernization. No tea/coffee maker in rooms!!!!.
