Michael’s House is a boutique hotel hidden inside the “Hutong” of Beijing; its glass-roofed lobby is very special, like the sunroom of your own house. The room deco is in traditional but supplies modern facilities, clean and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I will highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to feel real Beijing.

Micheal's House is a charming hotel, situated a bit outside the center of Beijing. Not all taxi drivers know how to get there, so always carry the adress of the hotel in Chinese with you. The staff and Micheal and his wife are super friendly and did their outmost to accomodate us. Each room is different from the others and this gives the hotel a very friendly and cozy atmosphere.
The breakfast could be more varied and also on time. All three mornings during our stay, the breakfast was late although we had agreed with the staff the evening before on the time of serving breakfast. They could also allow more heating in the very nice lobby area so that you don't have to wear extra clothes while having breakfast or while having a beer with your friends in the evening.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and very pretty. Confortable, quite big, with all modern amenities with a nice chinese touch.
Only negative thing: should be better indicated for taxis to find it. The hotel should provide better information for first time customers to give to taxi drivers.

Better to stay in your room in winter. The reception and bar area iscold.
The dumpling is really nice. Good value for money especially during Olympic time. The hotel is well decorated, clean and comfortable. To my surprise, my room (Emperor Suite) has internet. Also, hair dryer is provided and no need to hire.
The directional map needs more specific information or locational reference points cause even the taxi driver cannot find the way.
The room is quite comfortable and the staff are helpful.
It would be perfect if the breakfast can be a little more variable.
