Sra. Silvia and Srta. Gisela were wonderful and accommodating hostesses. If you budget the 15 mins it takes to walk to the center of town, the distance is not an issue. The streets are decently lit and safe. We actually preferred being outside of the very touristy areas for portions of the day to relax, plus, the 4am geyser tour picked us up and dropped us off at our door anyway. It's also a much quieter part of town - no street traffic, just the ubiquitous street dogs you find everywhere else.

The hostal is extremely well maintained and clean and the bed is comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and the host very friendly. Nice hot shower and patio area to relax in outside.
This is a small hostal that pass us confidence and is in a place where you can rest because here is no noises around.
Nice Hostel With own bath, and nice staff, nothing fancy but clean small place where Sylvia will take care of you.

It´s clean, confortable and quiet.
It was difficult to find Hostal Solor the first time since it is on a small street that may not be located on the map you have, but easy once you know the way, so print out a map that covers the area (hint: Lonely Planet's maps doesn't zoom out far enough) so you don't get lost trying to find it. Breakfasts were a bit sparse - just rolls and butter/cheese/jam and coffee/tea and juice.
The distance from town. It's a 15- minute walk along dusty roads and at night parts are very dark. It's not insurmountable though, you just have to plan so you don't have to go back all the time. The advantage is that there's no problem with barking dogs throughout the night as there is in town.
In the middle of the day, when the sun is to shine, is difficult to walk to or from the hostel, however I prefer stay there because of the silent place.
poor value for money, lack of tv in the room, wireless was not working.
there is no hot water. the breakfast is included in the price, but you can't use it because excursions begin ahead of a breakfast time.
it´s quite far from the tawn. Poor rate quiality/value, should be cheaper.
The hostal frequently hasn't someone in the desk. I wait at the closed door for 30min until be able to do my check-in.
