The staff, mostly young, smiling, helpful Chilenas (women) could not
have been more welcoming...The beds were comfortable and new, the bed
linens of good quality...excellent location in a peaceful residential
neighborhood in the heart of Santiago, a 10-15 minute walk from two
Metro stations... There is a Lider grocery store a block away and

or electric heater for the winter (when I was there), and a fan for
the summer -
Has a distinctive identity and stands out, in a quiet, safe and lovely neighborhood. Can walk to most of the places of interest and spots in town, if one has the aptitude.
Almenas is a nice cosy home/hostel, comfortable place to sleep in and a clean complete private bath (have to opt for it though).
The staff is professional and courteous. And yes, Wi-fi is available and works very well. Breakfast was simple but sufficient as one would eat at home.
