The staff members are incredibly friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and the location is great for walking to various parts of the city. The accommodations are clean and comfortable and hold a bit of Winnipeg history within their walls. This trip I was also able to enjoy the wonderful music performed in the Palm Room by a very talented pianist, Ferro - relaxing and reflective and truly enjoyable. I went in for one drink and stayed for over two hours. The complimentary coffee delive.
所有评语 » I loved the attention to detail, the cleanliness of the rooms and of the hotel in general. It gave us the experience of slipping back in time. Most important was the human connection--the friendliness and graciousness of the staff. Our questions and requests were responded to quickly and politely. The only slight exception to this was the young woman who checked us out on the last day. She was just a bit brusque with me and this was an unfortunate last but important connection. Otherwise, every. The building itself is magnificent and the public areas are beautifully maintained and restored. The room was lovely in an old fashioned way with all the modern conveniences. We ate in the dining room and the breakfast room and the food was excellent. The staff was attentive and pleasant. I worked out and swam in the fitness centre which was top notch. I loved everything about this hotel. I think it is worth coming to Winnipeg for. Oh and it was walking distance from the Winnipeg art gallery an. I have been staying at Fort Garry for the past 7 years while I'm in town on business (about 4 times a year). I was given a wonderful room this time (rm300). The breakfast is terrific, I use the spa every time I'm here (i have young kids- and no time for myself at home!) and the yoga pass was a great touch (I used it - NICE facility!). I also utilize the coffee/tea room service - excellent added feature. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. They do their jobs so well it seems effortless (and I know it's not!) and they DO enjoy what they do, especially the waiters. The food (dining room and Sunday buffet) and wine selections are lovely. We stayed one night after visiting the 100 Masters exhibit at the WAG; The Fort Garry made it 101 Masters!. The bed! The best ever and I have travelled a lot in my lifetime. They say location is everything. Far enough away from the MTS centre but close enough to get a good walk in. Felt very safe! The reuben sandwich was great. Piano player in the bar was marvelous. I really had a great stay. I have recommended your hotel several times today!. I discovered their TEN Spa and have been telling all my Vancouver friends about its amazing treatments. I will return just for the spa! The staff at breakfast were extra special as they made me feel right at home being a single woman travelling. WOW... The Fort will always be my choice to stay. Stayed here because of the proximity to the train station and The Forks. Good location for a downtown visit and, although the hotel is showing its age (particularly the rooms), it is a charming, historic building with very good staff. The price we paid was reasonable and wifi was included. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. It was my daughters dream to stay there for her 16th birthday and the staff toured her around the hotel, showing her all the ballrooms and special places in the hotel - would go back in a heartbeat. Quiet, private even though there were 4 weddings going on. The Sunday brunch is an amazing experience. The staff are so helpful. The lady who works in the breakfast area is wonderful. My husband is celiac the chef went the extra mile to make sure Jim had a good breakfast. LOVED SOME REST without family or friends it can be tough in the new Province. I work, study and lead a busy life, a bit depressed and tired I recovered from most of my tiredness. Thank you!! Saving for some more as my budget is tight. I am greatfull for the experience. Loved the breakfasts, especially the smoked salmon eggs benedict!!! Public spaces and Crystal Ballroom were really lovely, very similar to the London Ritz. Really comfy beds. Great gym, not swanky but seriously well equipped. This hotel is an old railway hotel. The hotel lobby, breakfast dining & bar areas are very nice. The rooms appeared to have been renovated, circa 1977 and are indeed ready for a complete renovation including the washrooms. Loved sitting in the lounge people watching. Loved the beds, very comfortable and bedding was luxurious. Loved that we could order tea and coffee at any time and that our coffee was waiting for us outside our door each morning. The feather bed was amazing. I had the best sleep both nights we were there. I also love the original decor and we enjoyed the 50s crooner in the Palm Room on Friday night - classy. Totally loved the pecan pie dessert as well. We love the history of the area and of your building. Our boys really felt like they were brought back into time. Your staff was outstanding in answering questions about activities and directions, etc... We like the breakfast etc. and the service provided by the hotel staff for our daughter's wedding. It was a memorable occasion for all that attended. Coffee and tea service to the room was convenient. The staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. They never made you feel like you were bothering them and everyone you called answered the phone with a smile. It was a very refreshing change. Staff were very welcoming, I never felt that I was bothering them when I approached them with questions the food in the lounge and for breakfast was amazing the bed was so comfortable. The Xmas party on the 7th floor and my room was on the 8th floor. No elevator from the underground parkade. Had to carry up two heavy suitcases myself. Lesson here, pack lighter.. There's no big effort to highlight the various tourist sites and events in Winnipeg and surrounding area. No coffee maker in room. I know we could order some to be brought to our room but it would have been better to make our own when we wanted it. My neighbours kept trying to get through the connecting door. Perhaps a small sign shall be put on door btw rooms. 408 is a great cozy room, just the noise from the walkway and neighbours might need to be looked into like foam around the doors?. Rooms could do with a little freshening here and there. There was a wedding on the 7th floor (we were directly above). We were still up at the time but perhaps they should have placed us elsewhere. The lasagna dish we ordered through room service was okay but not excellent. Getting to the pool was ok, but not as convenient as other hotels. Parking fee, could be a little lower since we stayed for 5 days. rooms could use some refreshing. The bathroom window was very drafty There was dirt in the corners of the floor by the tub The grout in the shower was not clean and was starting to peel away. Had to pay for parking. Was unaware I had to pay 15.00 a day to park and 10.00 a day for the Internet password. I would not have book there had I know. Are room was very close to the elevator and there was 2 weddings going on so it was very very loud. sort stay. Paying extra for parking and Wifi, expecially the Wifi, that should be a given. Some would love it but the bed was too soft and I had to ask the staff to remove the pillow top. I felt l was drowning and could not turn over because of the deep pillow top. Next time I will specify that I would not want it on my bed. You had to pay to park there. More books to chose from in the snack shop?. The decor needs a bit of updating...our room was very pink!. Being nickel and dimed. They should slightly increase the price and have the breakfast included as well as internet access. World travellers are used to having these services part of the package. I thought everything was great but was surprised that the furniture in the rooms was poor quality. No dressers for storing clothes. Few electrical plugs. A little on the cool side. Nothing. TV reception was pretty bad, luckily we weren't there to watch tv. the restaurant was too small. Thin walls between rooms - we also had doors leading to adjoining rooms and could hear conversations and bathroom noise. If these doors are not often used, suggest you remove for increased quiet and privacy. Wall paper in room needed updating and was starting to lift. But overall room was nice. I think parking should be part of the cost of the room. I wanted a bathtub... Having to walk through a fitness centre to get to the pool.We also had dinner at the lounge/bar fantastic atmosphere ,but the food was a disappointment. Would prefer to not have outside sourced internet connectivity. The memory foam matress we had was uncomfortable. Wanted to phone from Toronto to tell you of our flight delay using my Australian mobile phone & put on hold for six consecutive calls. Never did get through & calls cost a lot! Improvement there please.
