I enjoyed everything about the West Coast Suites. Right from the friendly and warm reception that we got when we arrived. The staff was great. Polite, fun and friendly. The accomodations were clean and comfortable along with warm and modern. For me the location couldn't have been better as I was participating in a seminar directly accross the street in the gym. I recommend the West Coast Suites to everyone that I know is travelling to Vancouver and specifically UBC. Thank you guys.

As I was writing an exam on the UBC campus early the following morning I loved the fact I could just walk from the hotel to the venue and not have to deal with parking, etc. I also enjoyed the clean, modern and comfortable suite and the fact it provided a quiet environment conducive to studying. All in all it was excellent value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for anyone wishing to stay in close proximity to the campus.
The rooms were large and comfortable. We rented a king suite, and it had not only access for those folks who wanted to sleep together on a more intimate basis, but also the facilities for people such as family members such as children. It was clean and comfortable, and we will stay there again.
It is inside University of British Columbia campus. There are a lot of attractions inside the campus such as 3 museums, wreck beach, and a castle. Room is clean and comfortable. They also provided kitchen for us.
The suite was clean and attractive, comfortable. Nice to have the kitchenette and table for dining. Very convenient if visiting UBC campus (it's on the campus), close to the UBC Museum of Anthropology.
our room was awesome, wheelchair accessible as we needed, parking was also reasonable and very close, the staff were helpful on the phone, the hotel is very close to downtown and ideally priced.
Convenience of being on UBC campus when I had work at the university. Spaciousness of the suite and capacity to cook and store my own food. Beauty of UBC campus itself.
1. All of the above 2. Room 1016 is our favorite. Room 1014 is weird, being a mirror image of 1016. Everything is amusingly backwards.
Very conveniently located on UBC campus. Facility was clean and new. Beautifully landscaped grounds. Economical.
Directly on UBC campus but not that far from downtown and airport. I liked having a balcony and kitchenette.

We liked the location because we were there for our son's graduation. My husband and I stayed with our adult daughter who slept on the sofa bed. We liked the convenience of the in suite kitchen.
Convenience - everything that you need is all in the room! Coffee maker, iron, hair dryer etc. no need to ask for assistance.
location was perfect and very close by to the venue we were attending, the beds were comfortable as well.

i am disabled, we were there for my wife to have surgery so checking out was tricky: my wife couldn't lift and i was in a chair. there was no one available to assist. at no point did we see staff. that said, we are planning to stay again for my wife's next surgery... we'll just plan better and pack lighter.
1. Internet: Frequent logins annoying 2. Outside noises: expected, given student body, but... 3. Parking fees a bit high.
Phone,refrigerator, tv in room not working. Wi-fi worked in lobby only. Made our communication with other visitors very difficult since our cell phones work but are expensive to use in Canada.
There was a long wait to check in.
No access to hotel staff, front desk, phone. No one around.
No ac, and it was very hot while we were there.

letsbookhotel.com provided the wrong description for the room (the room described was at the West Coast Suites, the booking received by the hotel was for a regular double room). The hotel did their best to provide us with a suite at no extra cost, even though the mistake was apparently made by letsbookhotel.com. We only found out when we checked in. Bad communication between letsbookhotel.com and hotel, and subsequently with us.
Saturday night, some-one must have had a party cause at around 1:30 am there was a group of people who was very noisy. Not much sound proofing from the outside. Just glad it didn't last very long.
Construction.
-Not well marked -long walk from the lobby to the room.
I wish there was a small table and 2 chairs since it was a kitchenette.
Locating the building was difficult. It is not well marked. The one sign hidden by vegetation. The check in desk is inside the Walter Gage Towers at UBC.
No ice machine Charge for local calls Broken night table lamp.
Building itself was drab.
Noisy. It seemed like the window was open. I had a room facing the courtyard, which I thought would be quieter than the bus barn side, but the noise seemed to just come into the room - especially at 2 am when some students were talking outside.

Very far from down town, hitting did not work at our room just in the living room.
The hotel could not check me in because I booked a room online late (11pm) and arrived shortly thereafter. I had to wait for some time before they could figure out how to get me a key. The staff was very kind though. It's just an operational issue that really needs to be looked at...maybe not allow same day reservations after a certain time?.
No air condition. Very hot in the summer if your room is not on the breeze side. But it would be nice if the temp. wasn't over 80. Need stronger fans in livingroom not just table top. Bedroom was better cuz of ceiling fan.
Bit noisy in my room opposite the bus loop.
King size bed was too small for two to share. The price was a little bit high.
The rooms were quite stuffy even with the windows open.
When I arrived at the main desk no one seemed to be on duty for checking in. After waiting for several; minutes someone finally showed up. $10 per night for parking (tax incl) seemed a bit stiff, to be honest.
the value for money is expensive.
You could hear chairs sliding across floors from above at 4:00AM.
Housekeeping did not replace empty body lotion bottle after the 1st night. It took several calls to get burnt hairdryer replaced.
1. No airconditioning/ can not open window since mosquitos will come in. 2. laundry fee/ way to use are not friendly to user.

It would be awesome if there was a blowdryer in the room.

The sofa bed was horrible - in fact we had to move the mattress onto the floor because the sofa bed who so bowed in the middle. After one night on it (we were there for 9 nights!!) it was so bad she had to sleep on the floor. Also the housekeeping was not what one would expect for the price we paid - they basically came in, swept a little and cleaned the bathroom. No vacuuming was done or other general cleaning.
Don't expect porter service. It's a struggle when you arrive late at night with a few luggages. Worse still, the elevator doesn't stop exactly at the same floor, so you may need to go up a few flight of steps to get to your room.

tv not working no internet (cable or WIFI) no comfortable chair for sitting should have received greater discount than the discount provided for cabled internet.
The letsbookhotel.com ad was slightly misleading. I was expecting Wi-Fi to use in my room for my business. The ad said that Wi-Fi was available. To my surprise, internet was not available.
You may be desperately angry when you call the front desk after 5 pm and ask questions - they will let you to call back tomorrow after 8 or 9 am (they know nothing about housekeeping questions). The staff are not helpful at all, only if there is a fire in room, I guess. It is not a hotel. Yes, it is just a youth hostel.
