  the hotel was tucked away in poperinge near Ypres and was quite delightful. The rooms were very nice with excellent bathrooms. The 4 course set meal was delicious and good value for money.   Only staying one night makes it difficult to comment on the staff as we only had contact with the reception staff. They were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Also good proximity of hotel to town centre, 5km: we drove to hotel, checked in, left car there and took taxi to town. Cost €20, a special deal the hotel has with a local taxi firm. Would have cost more to stay in a hotel in the town centre where parking is also quite expensive. All in all, it was a choice we made not just for the money saving side of it but mainly because we had come to
