It was a fun place to stay with exceptionally nice staff. The room was quiet and well-equipped and the breakfast was excellent. It was so quiet at night that we thought we were the only guests but breakfast was bustling with a full house. They also rent wonderful bikes to tour the countryside. Perfect position between raiway station and Bruge.The room on the restaurant level and facing the water could not be topped. Would recommend it to anyone. If you want something that is exceptional book in to a water facing room. Meals excellent. Wish I lived there!.

This was our 2nd time on 'the Boat'. The town is so lovely and stayingin an hotel that is on the water makes it that bit more exciting. Agreat hotel, great fun!. Really comfortable and quirky hotel - will definitely go back. Good parking and a nice walk (no more than 10 mins to the centre). This is a great place! Even better than expected. Just a short walk from the train station and easy walk to the city center.Friendly helpful staff, interesting accommodation, rooms well appointed, generous breakfast, conveniently located. The whole ambiance was fab! Staff were so friendly and helpful and the restaurant was great !. convenient for the railway station which was the link from the PandO Ferry at Zeebrugge. Unique atmosphere, excellent food and good location for the city centre. Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, offering additional services to us. The meals, both breakfast and dinners were 5-star caliber. Good location for train travelers, yet close to city center. Nice view of canal with quiet surroundings. It had a unique character and was conveniently located for the town without being in a noisy place. easy access into centre of brugge. Tv channels excellent. We loved the Boat hotel De Barge. The hotel restaurant is superb 5*excellent quality food - we tried the Flemish beef stew which wasdivine. The staff on reception and in the restaurant were very pleasantand helpful and the nautical theme throughout the hotel is a lovelytouch. Also, we enjoyed the way our bedroom window opened out onto thecanal - four handsome ducks greeted us in the morning!. It was unique in it style and the staff are very friendly. The food is superb. real value for money during the week time ; outstanding breakfast / brunch. the food was excellent and the service was very good. Lovely hotel, charming. Really unusual setting, loved it! really enjoyed taking breakfast with ducks at my eye level in the river. Thoroughly enjoyed it - from having lifejackets on the bed, to the lovely walk from the hotel, past the lake of love, through the old town, to the centre. Charming.a short walk to city centre. quiet and peaceful location. easy car parking, which is not easy in brugge. during our stay temperature reached 32 degrees although not air conditioned a fan was provided in room. Quiet location 10 min walk from train station, unique barge hotel added a nice atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, very good breakfast and meal in the restaurant (if booked in advance). The staff were helpful and the location was excellent for access to the centre of town. The area was quiet in the evenings and the rooms etc. were very well kept and clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location in relation to Brugge City Centre was great and of course the novelty of a floating hotel!. Great atmosphere being on the canal. Better location than expected withvariety of bars and restaurants available nearby. i loved the uniqueness of staying on a boat, i would definitely come back again and/ or recommend it to others.The entire environment was charming. Well located for access to old town though accurate directions were required. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and well presented. I particularlt liked the 2 life vests displayed on the bed as you arrived which adds to the nautical feel, though I imagine could cause panic to those not happy being on the water.Fantastic breakfast and very friendly staff. An interesting hotel in an unusual setting, enjoyed breakfast with the ducks and strolling into town. Resturant boat next door was very good as well. The services of the Receptionist and waiting staff, the uniqueness of the hotel and the location to the centre of Bruge.location, close to historic city center. The hotel atmosphere beeing an old barge. Location was ideal for visiting brugr and other areas of Belgium. Excellent service, a comfortabl hotel with character. location, good value. The general ambience of the hotel and watching the river traffic passing by. Free parking was an added bonus. Good restaurant.Originallity. Breakfast !. The toilet is fine if you're six foot six - but if you are shorter you a footstool - but this is such a minor thing in the total excellent experience. A minor point - galley can be a bit crowded if everyone comes down for breakfast at the same time!. Restaurant little expensive, not a lot of choice if you don,t like fish. The rooms could do with redecorating but they are still nice. just a little far walking from downtown but quite okay anyway. the beds are too soft but you cant please everyone!!. Restaurant closed Sunday night without prior notice. No air conditioning in room.We found a smell from the canal water which was quite strong in the room. The hotel did not cater for a vegaterian diet. GPS co-ordinates on the website would make finding the hotel easier. Using the address on the website took us a little way past where the hotel is located and we had to hunt around for it a little bit.i was very disappointed that the bar and restaurant was closed on both sunday and monday. I would have definitely eaten and drank there. I don't remember seeing on the website that it was closed for 2 days either. The hotel is too warm! Our room was warm with the heat off, and the restaurant @ breakfast was sweltering. We took matters into our own hands and opened a few windows in the dining room. The other guests seemed to be relieved. Also, more towels, please.the pillows. Staff in breakfast lounge were not very proactive. Myself and other guests were left to figure out that it was a self service buffet.The bed was 2 singles pushed together with the inevitable gap in the middle and therefore not as comfortable as it could have been.A big car park outside. Beds were very hard!. As a note, I would suggest that it would have been appreciated to have tea/coffee making facilities included in the cost, and not have to pay extra on arrival of 3 Euros a day. The cushions and throw on the bed could be cleaner and/or refreshed. The towels were not changed in our 4 day stay. the room get very hot in the sommer. Expensive. I would have liked to buy postcards of the hotel because it is so different from the "run of the mill" hotels. Shower rather small. No bar or restraunt available on the Sunday also a little bit pricey anda good 15m walk to the main square. Food poor, very casual attitude to there clients, Charge 3 euro a day for tea and coffee in the room, a lot of work needs to be done on client care, with an attitude to there clients of " not a problem.".definatly only a 3 star hotel, overpriced!!!. Lack of sound proofing between rooms and some reception staff.
