We stayed in a king room with a bay view. It was most excellent. The staff was very friendly and even offered to carry our luggage to the second floor. We also enjoyed the pub and dinner. Also clear the owners are investing in some upgrades with new carpeting and some appointments. We did enjoy the quaintness of staying in a vintage hotel. Nice staff, we got a free upgrade for our room, but it`s still not so big. However, the seaside view was wonderful, 1 min walking to the beach and the little bridge, good-looking old fashion building, facilities were fined, food were quite expensive. Break-first buffet looks nice but we didn`t have enough time to try it.
所有评语 » One word... Fabulous. From the moment we checked in to the time we checked out. The front of house staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the three bedroom apartment which was not only huge but immaculately presented. We will be back. Ryhan is an excellent host and is backed by well presented and well mannered staff. The buffet breakfast is real value for money and one of the reasons that we enjoy staying. We love Lorne any time of the year. Thanks for the upgrade on the apartment. The hotel itself is a grand old lady. I loved the view from the veranda, as well as the ornate iron railings The room was very clean and we'll appointed. It was lovely to have a bathtub. The location was great, close to the ocean and walking trail. A great old hotel with some very modern apartments. We were upgraded (slightly out of season and rainy), got a great ocean view for a good rate. The apartment was extremely well-equipped. Perfect, I think, for longer stays than our one night. The apartment we stayed in was beautifully decorated, clean, well appointed and a delight to be in.Views of the ocean, jetty and township were superb. Staff were very friendly. Old Hotel was a great place to sit and take in the sights. The location and the environment is perfect. A beautiful sea and a bridge will jump into your eyes once get up in the morning. The staff is very nice and give us free wifi during our stay. The room is clean and the building is special. My sister and I were only there for 1 night while doing The Great Ocean Road and we were very happy. Perhaps you need to add OTHER to your list to tick in the 1st question. Not everyone is a couple or a family. Really friendly staff, we were delighted to be upgraded to a room with an ocean view. Great view on waking up in the morning. Loved the historic building, it had a very unique and relaxed charm about it. We have stayed at GPH approx 6 times in the last ten years and each time we come back we have a great time. We feel comfortable & relaxed straight away & always feel we'd like to come back. very old house but with good surrounding and right in front of the sea. I have watched sun rise on the sea just in my room. Equipment won't be luxury but clean and tidy. staff friendly. All the staff were very pleasant, the room was small but nice a clean. they upgraded us to a room with a view which was lovely. the food was also really nice. great value for money. The food in the restaurant Was absolutely fantastic and we finished our wine in front of a roaring log fire...... the staff were very informative and booking in was quick and easy. Could do alot of nice walks around Lorne and the people can tell you lots of stories about the town . View was amazing and the room comfortable except for comments of what we didnt like. The food was excellent in the restaurant and the staff very helpful and polite. everything will be coming again. Love it and the food :) We had the King Spa room on the first floor the view was worth a million dollars. She is a GRAND OLD HOTEL. The spacious comfort of the apartment. The privacy that was offered. The bathroom facilities. The view and even the attendant wildlife; mainly squawking cockatoos!. this was a beautiful old building dining room was a spacious area very warm staff were very friendly and helpful it was just a beautiful place to stay. V. well designed apartment. Aware of needs for cold wet surfers. Travellers etc. Encouraged to stay over to explore in more detail next time!. Great location. The hotel has character. Air for spa bath didn't work and drained poorly probably reflective of the age of the hotel. Price of pints of beer, although consistent with other places $11.00 is a lot to pay for a beer. The bedroom was very tiny. A little impersonal in the decor. A little austere (even though quite luxurious). Stairs to our room from the carpark. The mattress is too soft which make me uncomfortable. And the building is without lift. Can't think of a thing, loved it. This would not send because I had not ticked the 1st question. I ticked mature couple but my sister and I are not a couple. Nothing. the pillows were atrocious, best pack your own. the room we were in was above the bistro so we heard the music playing in our room, but it was turned off around 9.30pm. Dinning Room very noisy when a lot of people in it. bands played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons which was great but interfered with the afternon sleep!!!. Our room was quite small but it was a budget room and adequate enough for our one night stay. The mattresses in the apartments could do with an update as they were very uncomfortable , not firm at all and kept rolling towards the middle and very lumpy , also we think that Breakfast could be a bit earlier as we had to go into town for breakfast and cancel our friends to meet us at your hotel for breakfast . The large bed in the King Spa Room was two single mattresses together, which was uncomfortable and very disappointing for a room of this expense and standard. Some maintenance also required in the bathroom - a little shabby. Rather noisy external fixtures when a strong wind blows. Nil. No lift. It was difficult for me to get up the stairs. I booked a room advertised as "no ocean views". It had a 'window' opening to an internal stairwell/hallway. Be mindful when booking that the double rooms may have no real windows. In the mornings people were pretty noisy. How can you call a room with no natural light a 'Princess Suit'?. cockatoos, noisy neighbours,. Whist comfortable & granted I must have had a cheaper room, the hotel room was quite small. I've previously stayed in the apartments which were huge. Hence it's chalk & cheese between the two and while I probably wouldn't stay in a small hotel room again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will be back to the gph. No free wifi. car parking. Staircase from garage, slimy and wet. Deadlocks on upstairs balcony and downstairs doors and one key could pose a problem in case of fire. Double bed was somewhat squeaky. No air-con. hallway looked into our room. Very noisy floor boards from upstairs. Water pressure / heat in the shower - was great but wasn't horrible!.
