The atmosphere at the Dundas Arms is excellent with friendly, polite, helpful staff within a stylish relaxing environment. The riverside bedroom was large and comfortable with high quality furnishings and amenities. The bathroom although not large was perfectly formed with good quality fittings. The bar and restaurant were both warm, inviting, busy places with a great choice in quality food and drinks. My favourite area was the library lounge where I spent a good couple of hours relaxing va. все обзоры »
The location between the river Kennet and the Avon and Kennet canal was wonderful with a large tranquil garden to have a drink or eats in. The pub cum hotel does lovely food in the restaurant and the breakfast was cooked to order and perfect. The bedroom was ok though a little old fashioned but probably in keeping with the pub style and the bed was large and very comfortable. The room had an outside private terrace right onto the river. A lovely calm and comfortable place to spend a night with .
The location, by the river with wildlife and a fantastic garden to eat/drink/laze in. Narrow boats passing by, towpath walks and lock gates. Right by the station so easy to get into Paddington or elsewhere. The staff were helpful and friendly and when they said 'your welcome' they really did mean it. Breakfast sitting by the open windows overlooking the garden and river. Private patio by the river. Giant dragonfly wallpaper. Upmarket place but not pompous, just friendly. Good food.
Staff friendly, bed very comfortable. Room a good size, excellent water system. Very clean bathroom, bedroom not so clean, bedside tables dusty, room poorly hoovered near window. Loved outlook, table on terrace, great bed linen. Poor reading lights. Excellent breakfast, had soup on Sunday supper, bread very stale indeed. Poor salt and pepper grinders, not filled properly. Very sticky tables in bar on Sunday evening - too sticky to read a book or newspaper.
We had a lovely room over looking the canal and locks . Wonderful comfortable king size bed . Very friendly staff especially a young girl who did the breakfasts and her mother who where both lovely . Made u feel very welcome . Hope her toe is fine now ? Great food and great place to stay and Relaxing to . Beautiful walks along canal even though it was wet and windy the weekend we visited . Look forward to returning in the near future .
My wife and I arrived by bicycle, tired and hungry, after a long day in difficult autumnal cycling conditions. We were immediately made welcome and were offered everything we required. Our room by the river was quiet and comfortable and we pedalled off the following morning, refreshed and ready for another long day in the saddle.
We loved the old English feel to the Dundas Arms. It has a long history, and the beautiful décor reflects this. Riverside gardens are beautiful. Our room was large, fronting on to the river, with a terrace. Beautiful!.
Lovely position right alongside the Canal, we were able to have our tea and watch the barges being pulled by horses, very nice staff, breakfast was good and they were happy to bilge with any requests .
Excellent staff, really friendly. Good outdoor sitting/eating facilities. Good for walking, quiet. Food good. All round, excellent place to stay. Would recommend and hope to return.
Amazingly comfortable bed. Lovely private space to sit outside on the river. Helpful relaxed staff. Great location for relaxing and watching the boats go by. Good food.
Lovely and peaceful, right on the Kennet Avon canal, staff were friendly and attentive. The food was obviously from local suppliers and was beautifully presented.
the location is amazing. Next to a beautiful canal. The town is very quaint. The staff is warm and friendly. The food is quite good. The garden, is lovely.
the evening meal gave a great choice for vegetarians. Beds were wonderful. Staff relaxed, friendly and efficient.Lovely spot by canal. Great large room.
Standard of room was excellent - very comfortable. Location is wonderful - great walks along adjacent canal. Good atmosphere. Definitely recommended.
Beautiful "island " location between River Kennett on one side and Kennet & Avon Canal on the other.
Relaxed, pleasant feel
Good food and drink.
Friendly staff, good food in the evening and breakfast was freshly cooked. Even fresh milk provided for making my early morning tea in my room.
Lovely characterful place in super location staffed by warm, helpful people, with lovely little touches like fresh milk for your room.
Warm friendly staff. Very comfortable beds, pillows etc. Great breakfast. Great value for money compared to other hotels in the area.
Unusual location and style about the place. Very relaxing. Good food. I will stay here again when the circumstance arises.
Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean room in idilic setting. Lovely

Great team and comfortable rooms. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic food for both dinner and breakfast.

Location, friendly, food and comfort.
Nice people. Nice setting.
Location on canal, food.
Location and staff.
Everything.
the staff was extremely helpfull and friendly lovely location.
Having to leave.
Could do with the bedrooms being updated a little...i know it is not really a business hotel but there was absolutely nowhere to work or any free surfaces to put anything. The room furniture needs replacing as lots of old drawers with missing handles etc - quite antique but not practical at all. Not major points as Everything else was great.
Nothing at all.
Having to go home !!.
Breakfast was fine, but we should have been asked when we sat down what we required for the cooked part, because we had to wait a long time for it to arrive.
I couldn't find any fault in our stay.
printed menu at breakfast would have been good. Some fruit and yogurt as an alternative to cereals would have been appreciated.
Having to leave it!.
Nothing.
Only a small point, but for the price I would expect a better "continental" breakfast. The cooked versions are great, but there is a poor choice of cereals, only OJ to drink & nothing else. Eg: fruit or yoghurt or anything else of that kind.
You can hear everything from downstairs if you stay in one of the rooms at the top of the stairs. Small TV too far away from the bed to see properly and no chair to sit closer.
Train line close by so can be noisy in some rooms. Very slow at breakfast, although it is worth waiting for.
Could not stay longer.
There wasn't much I didn't like apart from the fact that the
breakfast chef couldn't poach eggs propery to save his/her soul!
Yolks hard and rubbery all of them including other tables.
Slow service in restaurant.
The access behind the apartments used by staff to take rubbish away from
another area of the hotel. This meant the apartment was not always
private. Did send an e-mail to the hotel about this, but have not had a
response, that has been disappointing.
Noise at night which did not stop until after 3am.
Too hot in rooms and restaurant.
Other guests very noisily partying until after 3pm.
It's always full!!!.
Can get very busy in good weather, hence service in the evening get be quite slow.
Nothing.
Requested two twin beds or one American 193cm king. They emailed back
okay. When we arrived she apologized, said our original room wasnt free,
she had to move us to room with queen bed ( european king). What could
we do? Go somewhere else on a friday nt in august?.
Bedside lamps, impossible to read by them.
the room was far too over priced i had better facilities at a travelodge for half the price.no milk provided for the tea and coffee in the rooms.for £120 a night they need to provide a better service.
