The George is a lovely old village inn,now a Gastro Pub with a lovely modern atmosphere. We used it as a base to visit Bath and the surrounding area.It is in the lovely village of Nunney that has a ruined castle to visit just across the road from the George. We have to say the best thing about the George is the food, the menu is varied and all the meals were excellent. The room was warm and the bed comfortable. If the room came up to the same standard as the rest of the hotel we would stay here a. все обзоры »
Everything, the restaurant was amazing & the service superb.
We especially returned to the dining room evenings as the food was so good & the waiters efficient & charming.
The whole hotel has a wonderful ambience & atmosphere conducive to rest & relax. A "fine place, with fine food, & fine service".
Thank you for making our stay in the U.K. so special.
we loved our 4 poster room with stunning views of the castle and the village church - the peace and quiet of the village was so relaxing and the resturant served the best dinner we had eaten in a long time - the inn was so so clean with sofas and open fires - excellent polite and helpfull staff - wonderful break for us.
Really welcoming, newly refurbished more like hotel than B&B, my friend left his electric toothbrush in the bathroom, hotel sent it to us next day at no extra cost, so kind, beautiful castle ruins just next to hotel, lovely walks nearby great eveing meal and breakfast, ideal for Longleat night stop.
The location was very picturesque. The hotel was lovely.. a mix of quaint old features with modern facilities. Food was great. Most of all the staff was fantabulous.. made us feel very welcome and catered to our every need with a smile going out of their way to do so at times. Loved our stay here.
The room was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant menu gave a good choice with beautifully presented food. The staff were young, enthusiastic and very professional; both Tracy and Trish were absolutely charming. Why can't all accommodation be just like The George?.
The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful.
We were particularly impressed with getting a telephone call asking us if we required a table in the restaurant on the evening of our arrival. The location was also ideal for our visits to Longleat and Bath.
Hospitality was outstanding, have never felt so welcolm. The George is located in the most beautiful Somerset location, very pretty. The food was great and the room more than comfortable. I intend to go back to the George, we had a great stay : ).
Our visit was an overnight stay, and it was a wonderful experience, the staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful. Our evening meal was quite simply amazing. We have stayed in numerous hotels/b&b and this is in our top three.
Friendly old-world village with local ruined castle. Beds comfortable,
breakfast excellent, Furniture in bars/restaurant very comfortable
and modern. They do what they can to achieve a high standard in an old
building. Good evening meal.
Loved the little village and the historic pub with the feel you'd expect. Winter and fireplace on adding to e ambience.
Staff are brilliant - old fashioned service with a smile and time to have a chat.
Food absolutely brilliant.
The staff were extremely helpful and wanted you to enjoy your stay. Some of the hotel bedrooms are to be refurbished , so they are not the smartest but they are clean and bright. Excellent food. We were very happy there.
The bar area and restaurant very cosy and welcoming. The bedrooms were very comfortable with all the necessary facilities. We were shown to our room on arrival which was a lovely touch. Would highly recommend this hotel.
The staff are very friendly, the evening menu is good value and has good choices, and the breakfast is excellent and plenty of it, and the rooms have excellent decor and just the right size for two guests.
The staff was superb! They have a very enthusiastic crew of young people who love their job, are very knowledgeable and bend over backwards to help, the best I have had in a hotel in a long time.
Lovely guest house. the dining and lounge area has a very calm atmosphere and the breakfast room is spacious and cheery. Enjoyed the food in both and our rooms were very clean and tidy.
The setting for this hotel is great, near the little river and a small castle. The George is quaint and comfortable with a good restaurant. Our second visit and we would come again.
Location, friendly staff & atmosphere, very good food, value for money, mix of ancient building with modern interior design, enclosed beer garden -sun late afternoon early eve.

Nice building
On site parking.
Comfy bed
Good decor downstairs.
Friendly staff.
Friendly, quiet, helpful, unfussy, comfortable, clean. I would have loved to be able to stay longer than just the one night! It was exceptional.
A really charming little hotel; the essence of what's good about a family run business, and clearly very popular with a wide range of visitors.
The staff, food and location were all 5 star! We will be back in the Summer when its warmer, I hope! Great place for a quiet, quality break !.
Friendly staff, good size clean room with hair dryer, coffee/tea maker, alarm/cd player, warm and confortable. Breakfast was delicious.
Warm welcome. Friendly helpful staff. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Accommodation was quiet - no outside noise heard whilst in bedroom.

The food was excellent and the staff so friendly. It was a very short stay but we would love to go again and explore more of the area.
The location was idyllic and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The downstairs of The George was charming and elegant.
I would like to thank the staff for such a wonderful stay. The food and service was excellent and I would highly recommend it.
Fantastic Location in a quiet and beautiful West Country village. Food was excellent and staff friendly. Comfortable bed.

Rooms were nice and staff were nice, the food was amazing. Really pleasent area. Lovely building.
The bath towels were the best that I have ever had in anywhere that I have stayed worldwide.
The location,Service and so clean too,a real old plce with lots of charm, food was excellent.
very good value for the money, friendly staff, excellent spot in the small village of nunney.
The setting it was in the fantastic staff the food was fantastic value for money and good.
A wonderful view over the river and castle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food.
We were a little disappointed with the room compared to the rest of the hotel. The carpet was dirty, the door needed a handle, and would only stay shut when locked, the toilet seat was loose and the toilet leaked, the towel rings were loose on the wall and two lights didn't work. All small things that if rectified would have made our stay perfect.
Too many stairs to lug 2 big & heavy suitcases up!.
coming home !!!!!!.
It was all good.
Having to return home after only 3 nights.
En suite was a little dated.
Rooms small, no room for table/chairs, floorboards creak when anyone
moves in vicinity of bedrooms.
Hand held shower - but a small inconvenience to put up with given all it's pluses.
Breakfast was a little disorganised and orders got mixed up, but staff were eager to put things right.
Our bathroom needed updating, but our 2 sons had beautiful bedrooms with very modern bathrooms so presumably ours will be updated in time.
That we stayed only one night, will be staying again soon.
Nothing.
morning tea @ breakfast didn't seem to be made with boiling water - but that's the only grumble over a two night stay.
no telephones in the bedrooms.
could with a chest drawer instead of a table as they were only a wardrobe for storage.
Expensive food
Buzzing noise outside bedroom & noise from kitchen below.
No soundproofing between rooms.
Nobody at check in when we arrived.
not one single thing.
Hearing someone snore from an other room! Having to squiz very hard on the shampoo/shower gel mini bottle.
Nothing.
The creaky floor of the bedroom above
MDF worktop in bathroom (room 8) was in a poor state and needs replacing.
There was a lot of stairs!.
The room was very basic and was not in keeping with the downstairs which was beautiful. The noise from the refrigeration unit in the kitchen made a humming noise all night and there were damp patches on the wall in the room. However, these are minor points and we had a lovely stay...........thank you :).
Room was in need of modernisation and sound proofing was poor with creaking floor in room above. Wifi not working in bedroom.
Nothing, everything was up to and beyond expectations.
Our booking didn't go onto their system properly so we could only stay one of the two nights we had booked which was disappointing however the manager did everything he could and arranged alternative accommodation for us.
Room rather small and in need of some refurbishment. Missing some small touches which would have made a difference, i.e. somewhere in the shower cubicle to put shampoo etc. - small things but make a place seem more luxurious.
If I had to choose something it would be choice of toiletries they seemed a little watery .
nothing.
food a bit pricey, wifi signal not very good upstairs.
The bed was too small (we are large).
