Free parking is available nearby, and the Neolithic monument of Avebury and the ancient chalk mound of Silbury Hill are both a 25-minute drive away. Famous Stonehenge is 50 minutes away by car.

Lovely old pub in a picturesque village setting serving real ales in a relaxed pleasant environment. They were also able to add a camp bed to the double room after we changed the composition of our party. Top Marks. Breakfast was very good and was made from local produce. Also has an old crown on display, possibly belonging to Ethelred the Unready & is palso proud of it's WW2 association with Easy Company. (Band of Brothers).

Okay, The Crown isn't a 4/5 Star hotel, but it doesn't pretend to be - it is a really good, value for money, country pub. What's not to like? Great atmosphere with a lovely log fire in the main pub. staff were really friendly and there was even a quiz night on my first night (tuesday). Food was lovely and had the look and taste of proper home cooked. An archetypal village pub with good rooms - friendly and helpful staff (and local for that matter), and with above average food. Truly excellent value if you want to be a bit off the beaten track (but only 15 mins from Swindon). Lovely village pub/B&B. Cosy log fire, fantastic food (steak cooked perfectly) and a bed to die for, was so comfortable I overslept and didn't have time for breakfast but did get a take away bacon sandwich! We wanted an old rural English pub in a small village. The Crown was exactly that, picturesque village, period pub. The staff were friendly, was good value for money. Loved it. Great Cosy Inn. Enjoyed evey aspect of my stay. Having to leave. Didn't realise till after got the deal for £51 but got charged £60. Fire in bar a little smokey. Found our bedroom to be a little short on space, but OK for an overnight. Restaurant was disappointing. Outdated bedroom. Small bathroom/shower. Landlord arrived slightly to prepare breakfast.
