Restaurant, lovely food. Nice outside seating area. Staff were very nice and breakfast was good.good sized room. Pub food good. free internet, polite hotel staff and a great breakfast!. The surrounding area was in nice country setting and off the beat and track from everywhere. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Mainly chose hotel because it was close to my business course and the rate was affordable. freindly staff.good atmosphere.good home cooked food.but couldnt get afternoon tea as only one person on duty.comfy bed.The room was clean and comfortable - we were very pleased with it. Not much - really. The bar and restaurant were very nice and the food was very good. Very convenient, good parking, bar and restaurant good, staff friendly and efficient.on a main road, quite noisy as traffic went by, carpets in communal areas i.e. dining area and backstaircase could have been cleaner. This spoilt an otherwise excellent atmosphere. Rooms were a bit tired but not too bad. We noticed on the wine list that the New Zealand wine had an Australian flag next to it. (I am from New Zealand). for a short stay the room was ok for longer maybe a little on the small side. The walls were rather thin in the bedrooms and, having a family next tous, we heard all the crying babies etc. Some of the hotel furnishings were getting a little old. For example theshower head was rusty and the mattress was long overdue for areplacement. very close to the road... noise was a problem in evening and morning. Damp and fausty smell in our bathroom. Carpet in room needed vacuuming.I would have liked more shelf space in the bathroom and a hook on the back of the bathroom door !!!. Room was too hot and there was emergency lighting in the room which kept me awake. In the summer, when you have the window open, don't stay in the rooms near the road. It's like Brands Hatch outside, all through the night. I booked a double room, but in fact was given a twin - disappointing .I know also have also picked up an eye infection and wonder whether the towels/bedding were cleaned well enough?. noise from a cooler unit all night outside room. Very loud. very hot in the rooms, many bugs too and the pub area had a pungent smell of stale ale. There was wrong remote control for my tv in the room so couldnt watch properly. Shower head covered in mold and bathroom could've done with a good clean. Shower only worked on very hot temperature and did not seem to adjust. My bedroom door was literally hanging on by 2 screws so was loose and did not feel secure. shower room/wc was very cramped and was unable to use shelf as it was not fixed to the wall.thin walls could hear nxt rooms occupants in bathroom. The breakfast was dreadful - the staff were rude, the breakfast was very slow to arrive and the bacon was not properly cooked (how can you not be able to cook bacon?). The facilities seemed run down and need quite some cleaning (carpets) and restoration work. Internet connection fragile and most of the time not available.Breakfast was limited in choice. The main downfall was our room whichwas not very clean and we had been given a downstairs room which wasreally for somone who needed wheelchair access. The shower was forsomeone diabled and it was not very nice. There was a damp smell in theroom and we had to ask for air freshner to spray and everying needed agood wash and dust, Very off putting. Food was expensive, broken wardrobe doors and missing bathroom shelf inconvenient, bathroom didn't smell too good.
