I selected this hotel after reading Alisa and Neville reviews, and I would say both were very well defined. Thanks for your valuable input, I just want to thank Seres hotel staff and special thanks to Mr. Sedet. Great location, close to main attractions. The hotel was very clean and the staff made you feel welcome. The buffet breakfast was excellent (with enough choice to appeal to every nationality) and the view from the rooftop restaurant was amazing. Will definitely come again. Central loca.

Central location, providing easy access to all tourist attractions such as the bustling ferry port, Ayia Sofia and Blue Mosque area, Bazaars, Topkapi and other museums. Wide choice of breakfast, served on terrace with superb views over Bosphorus and the city. Friendly, efficient staff; clean modern facilities. Although located on tram route, street noise was not a problem. The breakfast is served in a cafe on the roof of the building, with great views (it's fully weather-proof). You can have dinner there also, but in our case the personnel did not quite understand English. The food was also not the best. We requested a room change (after one night stay) and the people at reception were kind to give us a much better room. locatin was more than perfect, very convenient to most of the city sightseeings and tours, breakfast was good with stunning roof view on the city and the sea. loved my stay and will go back there for sure, was very quiet despite the tram that passes by the street..on the contract, it gives an authentic feel of the city and a nice background :). I wanted to visit Istanbul historical places, and Seres with its strategical location near Topkapi, Golden Horn and railroad station is exactly what I needed. Although the hotel is an old one it is very clean and very well maintained. It is very near (10 minutes walk) to major Sightseeing monuments. Nearby there are restaurants, cafes and bars. Wonderful breakfast view on the terrace and very central position in the old part of istanbul, handy if you like to be close to major interesting visiting sites. Location was perfect. In easy walking distance of many of Istanbuls main attractions, and being on the tram line, it was easy to go anywhere. Nice big rooms and bathrooms, very helpful staff. Some rooms have windows opening in a brick well 1m*1.5m with no external view. We asked for a different room, and the other had much better view, although the windows overlooked a busy street with tram line -- a bit of noise but we happily paid this price for the view. rooms were a bit small but ok considering the purpose of the visit. The taxi that we took to the hotel had to stop a block away as the road facing the hotel is "closed" to taxies. I had to literally look for the hotel and then bring a staff from the hotel to transport our luggages to the hotel. Luckily, we did not have a lot of luggage. nothing. I don't have any claims for this hotel. It is exactly what you need if you want to visit Istanbul historical center. The hotel is at a quite noisy area. The tram passes right outside. If you keep the windows close the affect is not that bad. Being on the first floor, and given the very central position, the street sounds (tram, clacson horns and such) can be quite loud, particularly if you need to keep your window opened... Room rate quoted in Euro, and not local Lira, but then billed in Lira, and charged in Euro significantly greater than initial quote. If you quote an amount you should bill exactly same amount. The tram runs right outside the hotel, so it is best to stay at a high floor. My son got a room that faced an internal air shaft. It was unbearably hot, but the hotel changed it right away. Nothing. Rather small rooms and view out the window was not attractive (overlooked a demolished building). uncomfortable bed. We booked the room with double bed but they gave us the room with 2 single beds. Tram passes just outside the hotel which is bit noisey as our room had window facing the street.
