We loved it here! We stayed for 8 nights & barely left the resort, after many months of travel! Great private bungalows, with a big bathroom & terrace with sun lounges & private garden. Everything about this hotel was top notch! The food was healthy,light,and very reasonably priced. The staff were attentive and genuine. The grounds were a slice of paradise, the rooms cozy and comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer. Didn't make use of the spa but the prices for massage etc were very low. We can't wait to return!

Very nice atmosphere, oriental and the smell of cinamon every where in
the hotel. Nice new rooms, oriental style, with bathroom, lotus flowers
around. Big lagoon swimming pool. 3 restaurants, but a little expensive

Mangrove Villa is a unique getaway from most other places. With only 6-7 rooms, it is private and far away from touristy traps. Situated on the side of the river and home to King Fishers and lazy Water Monitors, I could relax and refresh myself. My favourite place was sitting by the river and watch the river go by.....
The staff were very helpful, considerate and accommodating, including making special meals suited to my preference.
Be prepared to enjoy tasty and healthy traditional Sri Lankan -
very quiet and isolated location, a bit of a distance to the nearest village or the beach. Hotel has its own tuktuk though. Very clean, though the non-A/C cottage I rented was rather basic. Very good food, and a very friendly and helpfull owner. An excellent choice for those who look for a quiet and peaceful retreat on the banks of the river Bentota.
