I stayed here in 1977 and again in May 2013 and was surprised at how little has changed. It has been enlarged, but the welcome and atmosphere are still the same.
The hotel sits on a hill above the town and is only a short walk down to the centre of town but a steep walk back up. The location is perfect for a stopover near to the motorway.

Lovely hotel. The inside is much better than the outside. don't judge a book ... We had a good welcome from the friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to the Plaza Mayor once you get your bearings. If we went to Caceres again we would stay here -

A lovely little hotel in the heart of Merida.Once the car was parked, a couple of hundred metres away, then everything is accessible. Just down the road from the ampitheatre and the "tren turistico" Take the road train (a bit cheesy I know) for a fact finding locator of all the Roman monuments.

The man working at the desk offered to take our bags to our room or show us around if we had any questions. The rooms were good sized and comfortable.

the location within the monastery is wonderful, and so atmospheric. The rooms are huge, well-furnished and comfortable. We travelled in April, and in the mountains the evenings are still quite cool, so it was lovely to have the heating on. The setting for the hospederia is stunning and very memorable. The staff were friendly and efficient -

Easy driving distance to old city and major supermarkets.
Very friendly atmosphere especially in the bar. We chose a room ( not a cabin ) which was quite small but with en suite and large terrace. Self-serve laundry facilities. -
