  My wife and i thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colon hotel and would recomend this hotel as an excellent central location to explore Barcelona. You are right in the centre but yet in a very quiet peacful location just off La Rambla ideal for all restaurants, the bus tours etc which are a must for anybody visiting the city. The hotel itself is beautiful and kept up. Our room was lovely with a terrace overlooking the Cathedral. Staff was very accommodating and recommended excellent restaurants.   Location excellent, plenty to do during the day, quiet at night in immediate vicinity of hotel- easy to get a good night's sleep.   Hotel Bagues was everything we were hoping for. It was a stylish very chic looking hotel with an outstanding staff. The location was awesome right in the middle of Las Ramblas and steps to the Bari Gotic. I would highly recommend this location as the prices were very good as well. The delay did give us a chance to - The staff are top-notch. Very few luxury hotels are able to balance friendliness with efficiency like Hotel Bagues. It's a rare gift to offer the experience they do for guests. The ambiance of the hotel is fantastic, too, and despite being on the La Rambla - with a room overlooking it - at night we could only hear the faintest of sounds. Luxuriously decorated, but cosy, the entire hotel is a really lovely experience.

The finishings were beautiful with a luxurious feel in the common areas as well as in the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet. Nice big towels and very nice large bath sheets. Out of the 5 hotels we stayed at in Spain, this was our favorite.
