  We liked best Mama's merluza (hake) steaks prepared with salsa verde. This place is terrific; it's in the middle of nowhere, a tidal marsh part way between Santander and Bilbao. It's about ten minutes drive from a gorgeous Atlantic beach (at least 2 km long sandy beach between two dramatic headlands) and the same distance from a quaint fishing vil... что говорят » lage. I'm not go to say more about location because I don't want more people (particularly Englishmen) to find this place. Seriously the rooms couldn' - While all of the places we stayed in Cantabria provided good and well priced accommodation, Los Gallos was the gem. The room was large, well equipped with air conditioning, a balcony and a new two sink, big shower bathroom. The staff spoke little English but they were very helpful and produced everything needed. There was a wide range of choice at breakfast, the restaurant food and wine were excellent and the bar produced draught Sam Miguel XV, wines, cocktails accompanied by tapas. Good atmos

  Very pleasant and helpful receptionist. Good tapas in the bar, although when an ignorant foreigner orders way too much food, they could perhaps tell him before they bring it to the table...but then I did eat it all... - Lovely staff. Hotel has on site pool and bar as well as restaurant and is very close to the beach. Recommended.
