This hotel lived up to all our expectations and more. We arrived at 10.30am and expected to just leave our luggage, but we were given our room straight away. The staff is extremely knowledgable and friendly, the hotel is almost a B&B but with private facilities, easy to walk to most in town attractions, excellent breakfast very good and convenient before the start to the day, good connection to WIFI. They also have a good network of local experts if you are looking for a guide (ask for Domingo)

leaving since we had an early morning flight. The hotel was spotless
and the breakfasts were fantastic! We love the extra attention we get

The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful, always smiling, and solicitous without being in your face. Breakfast was plentiful, lots of choices and value for money; use of the business centre at no extra cost was a godsend - see wi-fi
The entrance/lobby very spacious and felt homely. I would definitely stay at the Portswood again

This was a delightful place to stay in a lovely tastefully furnished Victorian Lodge. We were made very welcome and nothing was too much to ask during our 4 day stay. Location is great, it was easy to get to all the tourist attractions. I stayed here with my girlfriend, it was very comfortable, safe and value for money. It is indeed a home away from home. Nearby there is a local convinience store. You will need a car to get around usually 15min drive to waterfront, canal walk, cape town CBD, rhodhes memorial, etc Hashim will look after you, he is the manager.
